Once Upon A Time

“An Apple Red As Blood” Air Date: 5/6/2012

In the last episode before next week’s season finale, we open on a way too long nightmare where Regina is taken by the townspeople of Storybrooke and about to be sentenced to death for her wrongdoings. It’s weird to see Regina scared, as she’s the vicious evil queen. But this propels her into action to keep Henry, and to keep the curse alive, and subtract Emma from the picture once and for all.

Emma had practically kidnapped Henry and is trying to leave Storybrooke and never look back, but Henry rebels and turns the car around. He doesn’t want to leave. Emma’s destiny is to break the curse, whether she likes it or not. Henry goes to August for help on Operation Cobra, but August, more wooden than ever, has given up and is »

TV Reviews: “Once Upon A Time” Season 1, Episode 18 “The Stable Boy”

6 April 2012 7:18 AM, PDT | FamousMonsters of Filmland | See recent Famous Monsters of Filmland news »

Rule #1: Try not to be a kid of theirs.

Once Upon A Time Season 1, Episode 18 “The Stable Boy” Air Date: 4/1/12

This week’s episode opens with a mini flashback (“One Week Ago”), where Mr. Gold offers his services to help frame Mary Margaret for Kathryn’s disappearance in exchange for help from Regina in the future (like the sort that got him out of prison for assaulting someone). This deal had been mentioned and made obvious in previous episodes, and I’m not entirely what new information we learned other than that Mr. Gold approached Regina rather than the other way around, and that Regina could’ve used Mr. Gold’s plan without making the deal, since he spelled it out for her (yes, his lawyerly assistance came in handy, but it’s still hardly a juicy “deal”). Anyways, Regina spends most of the episode taunting Mary Margaret and »

Laura Prudom: 'Once Upon A Time' Recap: Love Turns To Hate

1 April 2012 10:16 PM, PDT | Aol TV. | See recent Aol TV. news »

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 1, Episode 18 of ABC's "Once Upon a Time," entitled "The Stable Boy."

Love may be the most powerful magic of all, but on "Once Upon a Time," it's also the catalyst for some undeniably wicked acts. Apparently, there's nothing some people won't do in the name of love, whether it's murdering a devoted stable boy, or framing an innocent, if naive, woman. One thing is certain, though: There's a fine line between love and hate, and Regina's heart no longer seems capable of discerning the difference.

From what little we saw of loyal and idealistic Daniel (compellingly played by "Nikita's" Noah Bean), I can't imagine he would've advocated killing Snow in revenge for his death, especially when it was her own care for Regina that spurred her decision. The manipulative Cora professed to have her daughter's best interests at heart, »

Once Upon a Time Sneak Peeks: Mary Margaret is Grilled by the D.A. & Emma Searches for More Clues

Much has been made of the fact that the Evil Queen's history will be revealed in this week's episode of Once Upon a Time.  In fact, we've featured sneak peeks of the Queen's disapproving mother, played by guest star Barbara Hershey, and her relationship with a man that her mother clearly doesn't like.  Read our interview with Barbara Hershey for more details.

But the Queen's history is only one part of the episode.  The other part - and integral to the history - is the rift between the Queen and Snow White, which has spilled over into Storybrooke.  The origin of the rift will finally be revealed in tonight's Once Upon a Time.  In Storybrooke, Regina seems to have successfully set up Mary Margaret to take the fall for Kathryn's murder. »

Once Upon a Time Photos: See the Queen Before She Was Evil...And Before She Was a Queen!

Could it be?  Could the Queen have been in love with a stable boy before she became evil on Once Upon a Time?

The upcoming April 1 episode of Once Upon a Time, titled "Stable Boy", will finally give us some much desired information about the fairytale world's Evil Queen.  Barbara Hershey guest stars as the Queen's mother, Cora.  From the looks of the ABC synopsis for the episode, the Queen may have actually been named Regina before she became The Evil Queen.  In her earlier years, Cora is pushing hard for her daughter to marry King Leopold (guest star Richard Schiff), but Regina seems incredibly torn.  Leopold is offering up a life of luxury, but a loveless marriage.  Can Regina really defy her mother's wishes and be with the man that she »

Once Upon a Time Spoilers: The Rift Between the Queen and Snow White Will Be Revealed in April

Once Upon a Time fans have gotten hints that some particular moment in time caused a terrible and damaging rift between the Evil Queen and Snow White.  Since that event, the Queen has loathed Snow, who became her step-daughter and who she eventually tried to have killed when Snow's father died (but was actually killed by a plan hatched by the Queen).  But the question on everyone's mind is "what was that event that caused the rift?"

Well, the show plans to reveal this to us in the April 1 episode of Once Upon a Time.  In that episode, titled "Stable Boy", Barbara Hershey will be guest starring as the Queen's mother, Cora.  In the fairytale world, we'll see the Queen's life before she became evil, but it is a defining moment in her life, »

ABC’s Beauty and the Beast Casts a Familiar Emperor and More

12 March 2012 5:00 AM, PDT | ScifiMafia | See recent ScifiMafia news »

And the casting news just keeps rolling in. This casting article is for ABC‘s Beauty and the Beast pilot, the Batb which is the “reimagining” of the fairy tale, not The CW‘s “reboot” of the 1980s series. Just to keep you guessing, however, ABC is throwing a ringer into the mix; a man who is already playing a king on another series of theirs. Another fairy-tale-based series.

Alan Dale – Charles Widmore in Lost, King George in Once Upon a Time, and man of power in seemingly hundreds of other shows, will be playing, not surprisingly, the Emperor in this reimagined story, according to Variety who first broke the story.

Also cast is Karen LeBlanc (the creepy Anabelle from the other boat in The River) as Ehren (in the proud tradition of sci-fi shows that come up with alternate spellings of my name), the leader of the rebels who »

‘Once Upon a Time’ Episodes 9 and 10: Dumb Kids, True Loves

23 January 2012 1:21 PM, PST | BuzzFocus.com | See recent BuzzFocus.com news »

Hello, Ouat fans! It’s been a couple of weeks. Been going through my own adventure through fairy tale land (*cough* Hollywood *cough*) so I was indisposed last Sunday. But let’s just say we didn’t miss much in “True North”, a rather weird side note in the show’s very young premiere season. Sure, we had Emma Caulfield (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) playing the Blind Witch, hungry for Hansel and Gretel but she was in the episode for only a brief moment. Then we had to deal with a rather bizarre thesis that adoption and fostering children is bad (courtesy of Jennifer Morrison’s Emma — who Hates the foster care system).

I’m glad that I didn’t have to write a whole review and recap of the episode because, frankly, it was the least interesting episode by far (*cough* it sucked *cough*). The fairy tale flashback really »

What does it say about me that I'm more invested in those candy thieving kids from last week — that we'd never seen before and will probably never see again — than I am in Snow White and Prince Charming? It's not because I'm a raging homosexual who can't appreciate love in all its many forms. Hell, I'm more interested in Mary and Matthew's (from Downton Abbey) happiness than I am in my own. But these two fairy tale clowns: Merlin's beard! This week's Once Upon a Time is about how they keep confessing their love to one another in both realities at once, and then are all, "Psyche! I just called to say I Don't love you! Sucker!" Plus a lot of falling on their own swords in the name of protecting the other one from King George. Also there was a Great White Northern Dove of Symbolic Plot Devices that »

Once Upon a Time Episode 10 Recap: The Power (and Pain) of Love

I was flabbergasted at the end of this week's episode of Once Upon a Time.  As much as I had been rooting for Mary Margaret and David to get together, I still honestly didn't believe it would happen any time soon.  Boy, was I wrong.  By the end of this week's episode, the pair were kissing in the middle of a public street.

This week's Once Upon a Time brought Mary Margaret and David to the forefront.  The will-they-won't-they business was bound to get tired after awhile and, I have to admit, I was afraid the episode would just be frustrating.  For nearly 55 minutes, the episode taunted and teased the audience.  But then it delivered big time.

As it turns out, Mary Margaret hadn't really been following her own advice about staying away from David.  She was just »

Episode Recap: Navy NCIS - 1.01: "Yankee White"

19 January 2012 9:12 PM, PST | PopStar | See recent PopStar news »

The pilot of NCIS was written and filmed in such a way, that if you hadn't seen the introductory episodes, which were in season 8 of Jag (TV) then you wouldn't be missing out on anything, since everything was explained again and we got to meet the characters too, which was good since as I said in the later episodes, not everyone got an opportunity to watch the intro episodes. Also Kate (Sasha Alexander) wasn't in the intro episode either, so we didn't miss a thing there. The Pilot was thrilling and fast paced, if only they hadn't made small boo-boos like Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Fornell (Joe Spano) not knowing each other here and then they do in later episodes where it's suggested they have a past, because of Gibbs' second ex-wife. Love my joke about the Pilot episode having planes in these and pilots! But I would, like Tony, »

Once Upon a Time Exclusive Sneak Peek: Will Mary Margaret Confess Her Feelings for David?

Fans of the Mary Margaret/David relationship will not want to miss this Sunday's new episode of Once Upon a Time!  The duo have been drawn to each other even before David came out of his coma.  In fact, according to Henry, it was Mary Margaret who finally managed to wake David up.  Unfortunately, the epic love story we know should happen was cruelly derailed when David's "wife" Kathryn showed up.  Despite their continued attraction, David seemed to remember his Storybrooke memories and decided to remain with his wife.

While the pair's story has taken a back seat for the last few episodes, they'll be front and center during this weekend's Once Upon a Time.  Mary Margaret has admitted that she can't stop thinking about David and they'll find themselves alone together in the upcoming »
