Undateable: NBC Sitcom Renewed for "Live" Third Season

9 May 2015 11:29 AM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

The show's ratings have not been great but Undateable will be back for a third season on NBC -- but there will be an interesting twist.

Undateable follows a group of single friends who are trying to figure out the fine art of relationships. The cast includes Chris D'Elia, Brent Morin, Ron Funches, Rick Glassman, David Fynn, Bianca Kajlich, and Bridgit Mendler.

The first season of Undateable aired last summer and drew unimpressive ratings, averaging a 0.91 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.78 million viewers. NBC is still struggling in the sitcom department so they renewed it for a second season anyway.

NBC renews 'Undateable' for an all-live season

8 May 2015 9:18 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Normally I get annoyed by these piecemeal renewals that force an endless string of tiny stories, but this is a good one. NBC has renewed "Undateable" for a third season, successfully avoiding the ignominy of clearing out its entire comedy slate. But much more interesting than the mere renewal for the comedy is the confirmation that "Undateable" will go live for all episodes next season. Unless somebody wants to remind me of an alternative, "Undateable" will be the first scripted show to go live on a regular basis for a full season since "Roc" did it back in 1992. Much of the appeal of "Undateable" was always based on liveness. Before the first season premiered, executive producer Bill Lawrence and much of his stand-up-heavy cast went on the road for a live promotional tour. That tour was at least somewhat responsible for a solid debut last summer and a strong enough »

Undateable: Season Two Ratings

1 April 2015 1:42 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Last summer, NBC launched a new sitcom called Undateable and it performed poorly in the ratings. The network still renewed it for a season two and decided to give it a second chance, airing it behind The Voice. Will the numbers improve enough for this sitcom to be renewed for a third season or, will it be cancelled instead?

Undateable follows a group of single friends who are trying to figure out the fine art of relationships. The cast includes Chris D'Elia, Brent Morin, Ron Funches, Rick Glassman, David Fynn, Bianca Kajlich, and Bridgit Mendler.

Everyone's Talking About These Selena Gomez Jokes From Justin Bieber's Roast

31 March 2015 6:00 AM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Justin Bieber's Comedy Central Roast aired March 30, but the most cringe-worthy lines from the laugh-filled taping earlier this month were already making the rounds online. Justin aside, no other star was an easier target than his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, who has since moved on with DJ Zedd. Multiple roasters fit in laughs with lines referencing Selena's Mexican ancestry, rumors about her love life, and her relationship with Justin. Considering the circumstances, Justin reacted to the Selena zingers in the best way possible, and he wrapped up the night with an apology after delivering this line: "What do you get when you give a teenager $200 million? A bunch of has-beens calling you a lesbian for two hours." If that joke surprises you, wait until you read what the roasters said about Justin and Selena. Be warned: some of these reported quotes are cruel. Selena Gomez Jokes "Selena Gomez had to f*ck you. »

31 March 2015 2:05 AM, PDT | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

Comedy Central finally aired its Roast of Justin Bieber on Monday night. You might recall some of these nasty burns, or some of these other pretty nasty burns. It was a particularly raunchy affair, featuring insults from the likes of Kevin Hart, Chris D'Elia, Hannibal Buress, Pete Davidson, Snoop Dogg, Natasha Leggero, Ludacris, Shaquille O'Neal, Jeffrey Ross, Martha Stewart, and Ron Burgundy. The Biebs and his monkey managed to remain mostly smiley throughout. Don't worry: If you missed the special, Comedy Central put some of the highlights on YouTube so you can get a feel for how everyone reacted and what the chaos looked like. Here's Hart talking about people taking their shirts off, in semi-defense of Bieber's shirtless antics: The whole peeing-in-a-mop-bucket thing was also addressed: Davidson had a couple of winning morbid jokes, and one of them even dissed Bieber's dad: Leggero took a shot at Beliebers everywhere: »

Review: ‘One Big Happy’ illustrates sad state of NBC comedy brand

17 March 2015 10:57 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

With "Parks and Recreation" ascended to heaven, "Community" descended to Yahoo and "Marry Me" and "About a Boy" preparing to evaporate into the ether, you might say that NBC's comedy brand was in jeopardy. That, however, would make the completely false assumption that NBC has a comedy brand. As the network heads into the heart of the Spring 2015 development season, NBC has a couple half-hour blocks of laugh-intended programming, which does not a "comedy brand" make.  The network's confusion at its place-filling strategy is evident in the new Tuesday block of "Undateable" and "One Big Happy," which premieres on Tuesday (March 17) with the not insignificant boost of "The Voice," which NBC presumably hopes will prevent the ignominy of a network having to start 100 percent from scratch, comedy-wise, at the May upfronts. On the surface, "Undateable" and "One Big Happy" feel similar, at least if your concept of similar is "All »

21 Nastiest Burns From the Justin Bieber Roast

15 March 2015 10:04 PM, PDT | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

Justin Bieber was roasted this weekend at the hands of Kevin Hart, Jeff Ross, Pete Davidson, Hannibal Buress, Natasha Leggero, Chris D'Elia, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Shaquille O'Neal, Ron Burgundy, and Martha Stewart. It was wildly inappropriate, as expected, but it was for a good cause. Bieber said he would use the skewering to signify a turning point, noting that being a young star made it tough not to hit things with his car, throw eggs at people's houses, and pee in public. "The things that I've done really don't define who I am. I'm a kind-hearted person who loves people, and through it all, I lost some of my best qualities. For that, I'm sorry," he said. "What I can say is I'm looking forward to being someone who you guys can look at and be proud of." Lots of blue humor burns prompted the apology. Here are some of »

The Best Pictures From Justin Bieber's Star-Studded Roast

15 March 2015 1:11 PM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

It's official: Justin Bieber has been roasted. After weeks of buildup, stars gathered in La to tease pop music's naughty singer on Saturday. And judging from the pictures, it's everything you could have dreamed of. Naturally, Snoop Dogg sat with Martha Stewart, Will Ferrell transformed into Ron Burgundy, and Kevin Hart and Shaquille O'Neal nearly fell out of their seats. As for famous faces in the audience, Dave Chappelle flipped off the camera, as Chrissy Teigen and John Legend laughed their butts off. The roasters did not hold back on delivering zingers about stars in the audience. Things may have been awkward for sisters Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian, as a few Bruce Jenner jokes were thrown into the mix. At one point, Kevin Hart tried to get laughs by addressing the old rumors about Justin dating Kendall. "I was like, what the f*ck?! I thought if you were with a Jenner, »

Comedy Central taped its Roast of Justin Bieber last night at Sony Studios in Culver City, Calif. featuring roastmaster Kevin Hart, and a lineup of roasters that included Ludacris, Shaquille O'Neal, Pete Davidson, Natasha Leggero, Jeff Ross, Chris D'Elia, Will Ferrell, Snoop Dogg, and, for some reason, Martha Stewart.
