Rylance Teases Chris Nolan's "Dunkirk"

18 July 2016 3:08 PM, PDT | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

While next summer will be filled with the usual tentpoles made up of franchises and sequels, one of the biggest original works will be the latest effort from 'Dark Knight' trilogy director Christopher Nolan with the WW2 film "Dunkirk".

"Bridge of Spies" award winner Mark Rylance is one of the large ensemble assembled for the film and he tells Empire that Nolan is set to do something quite different from other films in the genre:

"Chris is the most serious and interesting filmmaker. Every great filmmaker at some moment makes a war film. But Chris' script-writing is so brilliant that I think he has the potential to make a very, very powerful and simple, pure war film about a miraculous loss. I think it has the potential to be just a marvelous film.

With some of those old war films you used to get a lot of build-up, you play »

Is Christopher Nolan Crashing a Vintage WWII Plane for Dunkirk?

8 June 2016 3:07 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Last month, we showed you the first set photos from director Christopher Nolan's World War II movie Dunkirk as production got under way in France. This drama is based on the true story of a harrowing military operation to rescue more than 330,000 Allied troops, after they were trapped at the harbor of Dunkirk, France. Today we have a new report which claims that director Christopher Nolan's commitment to practical effects may have cost Warner Bros. a cool $5 million.

Indie Revolver has a new report where their sources claim the studio paid a whopping $5 million to purchase a vintage World War II aircraft for the production. The site's sources claim that Christopher Nolan will outfit this plane with IMAX cameras for some aerial scenes, before actually crashing the plane. The site's sources also claim that Warner Bros. believes Dunkirk could be as big of a hit as the director's 2010 smash hit Inception, »

Nolan To Crash Costly Plane For "Dunkirk"?

7 June 2016 8:01 AM, PDT | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

Filmmaker Christopher Nolan doesn't do things small, and with his upcoming WW2 epic "Dunkirk" it looks like he's going all out yet agin.

Indie Revolver reports that Warner Bros. Pictures has forked over approximately $5 million for a vintage WWII plane, potentially one that served the German Luftwaffe.

The plane, like the film itself, will reportedly be shot with IMAX 65mm cameras and on 65mm large format film for a number of sequences. Then, when that's all done, they're going to crash it and film the results.

A few months ago it was confirmed that the production had acquired a French T-47 Class Destroyer battleship and brought it back to functionality for use in the movie which stars Fionn Whitehead, Aneurin Barnard, Harry Styles, James D'Arcy, Jack Lowden, Barry Keoghan, Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, and Cillian Murphy.

Production is underway ahead of a July 21st 2017 release. »

ABC Cancels Marvel's 'Agent Carter' and Not Going Ahead with Marvel's 'Most Wanted'

12 May 2016 7:31 PM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC has canceled the Marvel television series "Agent Carter" after two seasons. The series chronicled the adventures of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) after the events of "Captain America: The First Avenger." The cast included James D'Arcy, Enver Gjokaj, Shea Whigham, Dominic Cooper, Lyndsy Fonseca and Chad Michael Murray

The Marvel series received critical praise but failed to draw in a wider audience unlike Marvel and ABC's flagship series "Agents Of Shield." Marvel was also developing a spinoff to "Shield" called "Marvel's Most Wanted" starring Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood reprising their roles as Shield agents Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter, but ABC has decided to pass on the pilot and plans for the series were scrapped.

'Agent Carter' Season 3 Will Probably Happen

7 March 2016 6:53 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Last week, Agent Carter closed out its Season 2 run of 10 episodes, airing during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s midseason hiatus, Tuesdays at 9 Pm. ABC just issued a renewal for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., along with 14 other shows. But Marvel's Agent Carter wasn't among them. While it hasn't been made official yet, Nerd Reactor reports that ABC has in fact issued a Season 3 renewal for Marvel's Agent Carter.

The news of Agent Carter's renewal may come as somewhat of a surprise to fans who have followed the show's ratings, since they have significantly dropped from the first season. The eighth and ninth episodes, which aired back-to-back, averaged just 2.5 million viewers and had a 0.7 rating for adults 18-49 demographic. The season finale dropped even more to a season-low 2.35 million viewers. The first season finale last year drew in 4.02 million viewers with a 1.3 rating for adults 18-49. However, series star Hayley Atwell teased »

Marvel's Agent Carter: To Be Cancelled? Season Three Chances Are "Bad"

[caption id="attachment_45182" align="aligncenter" width="590"] James D'Arcy, Hayley Atwell, Chad Michael Murray, Dominic Cooper, Reggie Austin (ABC/Kelsey McNeal).[/caption]

This is not the Hollywood Ending fans have mind. Marvel's Agent Carter is in danger of being cancelled by ABC. Executive producer Michele Fazekas told EW the chances for a third season are "bad." The "Hollywood Ending" season two finale could end up being Agent Carter's  TV series finale.

If there is a third season, Fazekas tells EW that there has been talk of sending Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter to London. They might keep her in L.A. though, or even send her back to New York. The cast also includes James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, Enver Gjokaj as Chief Daniel Sousa, Wynn Everett as Whitney Frost, Reggie Austin as Jason Wilkes, and Chad Michael Murray as Chief Jack Thompson.

Agent Carter season 2 episode 10 review: Hollywood Ending

If Agent Carter isn't renewed for season 3, at least the season 2 finale provides a satisfying ending...

This review contains spoilers.

2.10 Hollywood Ending

Well, it’s fair to say that didn’t disappoint. It’s safe to say I didn’t get everything I wanted – Dottie to come back, for instance – but other than that it’s hard to be upset about anything in this episode. This series has really been more about the characters than the plot, and pretty much everyone’s been through the wringer by the time the episode ends. Predictably, not everyone survived, but it’s safe to say that the death wasn’t at all expected.

But first things first. If anyone’s fate bothers me here, it’s Jason Wilkes’. Whether or not we believe that he was being influenced by Zero Matter (and the show never quite convinced me he was »

Marvel's Agent Carter: Season Two Ratings

2 March 2016 12:21 PM, PST | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

It's a new setting for the second season of Marvel's Agent Carter on ABC. Will this limited series do as well in the ratings this time around? Cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned!

On Marvel's Agent Carter, sexy and smart Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) moves from New York to Los Angeles and discovers new threats in the post-World War II world. The rest of this season's cast includes James D'Arcy, Enver Gjokaj, Chad Michael Murray, Wynn Everett, and Reggie Austin.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- typically around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to see the latest.

Will Hayley Atwell be ending her Agent Carter spy career to lead new legal drama Conviction? Maybe not, according to the actress herself…

Hayley Atwell has responded to the rumours that Agent Carter could be finishing after season 2 to allow her to star in a new ABC legal drama by the name of Conviction.

Is she happy with how Agent Carter season 2 ended, if that does happen to be the ultimate end for the series? "It's something I've tried not to entertain too much," Atwell told Comic Book Resources, before adding that "there is a chance, from what I know, if both shows get picked up, I'll be doing both. Until I know one way or the other, I can't jump for joy or grieve."

She added: "The main thing I do have is the memories of two seasons of incredibly fulfilling and fun work, with a »

One Thing I Love Today: Peggy Carter's second season is one of Marvel's best moments

26 February 2016 9:30 AM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

One Thing I Love Today is a daily column dedicated to putting a spotlight on some pop culture item worth your attention. After all, there's enough snark out there. Why not start every day with one quick shotgun blast of positivity? First of all, I'm only human. Yes, when I saw Captain America: The First Avenger, part of the reason I thought Hayley Atwell was delightful is because she's a no-joke '40s-style bombshell, funny and pretty and architecturally impressive. And her role in the film is solid, well-written and part of the action, not just window dressing. When Captain America makes his sacrifice at the end of the film, it feels like it's an actual sacrifice. He's giving up someone special and a chance at normal human happiness. What surprised me was when they decided to bring Atwell back in her own series. What surprised me more was when »

How 'Agent Carter' became the best comic book show nobody's watching

23 February 2016 5:27 PM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Agent Carter is nearing the end of its second — and, I fear, final — season. After tonight's double feature, there's only one episode to go, and last year's already modest ratings have only gone down in season 2. (And may, along with the renewals of the similarly low-rated Galavant and American Crime, have played a role in last week's ouster of ABC boss Paul Lee.) This is a business, and between the ratings, the exit of the man who greenlit the show, and the development of Marvel's Most Wanted as the thing to fill in at mid-season for Agents of Shield, the writing seems on the wall for Peggy, Jarvis and friends. Maaaaaaybe Marvel convinces their other TV partners over at Netflix to pick it up(*), though Daredevil and Jessica Jones are a lot more graphic and "mature" than what Agent Carter is aiming for. (*) Weirdly, season 1 of the show isn't available »
