Despite rumours, Marvel’s Inhumans hasn’t been cancelled (yet)

22 September 2017 4:05 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Marvel’s latest TV venture Inhumans has certainly had a tough time of things; the first promotional images and trailer were savaged by fans, and the two-part premiere episode – which screened in IMAX theaters earlier this month – met with a similar fate from critics and audiences.

The show – which has reportedly been a source of contention between ABC and Marvel – is gearing up for its network premiere a week from today, and a new promotional poster has arrived online which bills the superhero drama as ‘The Complete Series’, prompting speculation that the show has already been cancelled. Here’s the poster in question…

However, a spokesperson from ABC has contacted RenewCancelTV to state that “this is not a new poster [and] the same promotional verbiage [has been used] throughout our campaign.”

It would certainly seem a little early for a decision to have been made on the future of Inhumans; despite all of the negative buzz, »

From director/co-writer Mark Palansky, the dramatic mystery Rememory explores the unexplained death of visionary scientific pioneer Gordon Dunn (Martin Donovan). With everybody searching for the device he’s invented – which has the ability to extract, record and play a person’s memories – a mysterious man (Peter Dinklage) with questionable motives successfully tracks down the machine and uses it to try to figure out who’s responsible for what’s happened, even if it sends him straight into his own memories.   During this 1-on-1 phone interview with Collider, actor Henry Ian Cusick (who plays Dunn’s business … »

Inhumans quality was “a source of contention” between ABC and Marvel

8 September 2017 7:27 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

From the moment it was first announced as part of Marvel’s feature film slate for Phase Three, Inhumans hasn’t had the easiest of rides.

Reportedly forced upon Marvel Studios by Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter, the movie was pulled from Marvel’s cinematic slate when Disney decided to shake up its structure and have Kevin Feige report directly to Disney’s Alan Horn, and was subsequently announced as a TV series, co-funded by IMAX and ABC.

The Inhumans series itself has also come in for heavy criticism throughout its marketing campaign, as well as negative reviews from fans and critics following its IMAX premiere last weekend, where it grossed $2.6 million worldwide.

In a piece over at Variety, the outlet is reporting that the series has been a bone of contention between ABC and Marvel, with ABC expressing concerns over both the quality of the show’s special effects, »

Marvel’s Inhumans opens to $2.6 million worldwide

3 September 2017 2:26 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Marvel Television unleashed its latest offering in IMAX theaters this weekend, with the first two episodes of Inhumans grossing $2.6 million around the globe.

According to Box Office Mojo, Inhumans earned $1.5 million from around 400 locations in North America, along with a further $1.1 million from 65 international markets.

While this is a fraction of the IMAX openings for Inhumans‘ big screen cousins of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is a fairly solid result for a TV show, especially as it’s had a) very little promotion, b) horrendous reviews, and c) zero buzz. For comparison, the season four finale of Game of Thrones earned $1.4 million from its theatrical run.

What if you could hook your brain up to a machine and watch your memories played back as easy as a TV show? It's the invention of such a machine that sets off the thrilling mystery at the heart of sci-fi flick Rememory, which premiered at Sundance earlier this year. Game of Thrones alum Peter Dinklage stars as a mysterious man trying to solve the murder of visionary scientist Gordon Dunn (Martin Donovan) and the twisted, dangerous web of lies that he gets dragged into as he attempts to piece together the puzzle. Anton Yelchin, who tragically died last Summer, also appears in the film, as does Mad Men's Julia Ormond and The 100's Henry Ian Cusick. It hits Google Play on Aug. 24 and arrives in theaters on Sept. 8. »

Peter Dinklage Searches for a Killer Memory in Rememory [Trailer]

14 August 2017 5:02 PM, PDT | QuietEarth.us | See recent QuietEarth news »

"Game of Thrones" has been really good for Peter Dinklage's career. The character actor had always been a standout but being on the biggest show on the planet has certainly elevated things just a little for his career.

Among all of the projects he has coming in the next while, one of the most interesting is definitely Rememory.

Written and directed by Mark Palansky (most notable for his charming modern fairytale Penelope), the movie stars Dinklage as an investigator who is hired by a widow, Julia Ormond, to investigate the murder of her husband, the man behind a new technology which allows individuals to re-live memories.

Along with Dinklage and Ormond, the movie also stars Henry Ian Cusick ("The 100") and features one of Anton Yelchin's final performances.

First Trailer for Indie Sci-Fi Film 'Rememory' Starring Peter Dinklage

14 August 2017 4:34 PM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"The machine is incredible!" "Pure, unfiltered truth." Ready to remember all of your memories? Lionsgate has debuted the official trailer for an indie sci-fi film titled Rememory, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. This is one of a few subtle indie sci-fi films that played at the festival, along with Marjorie Prime and The Discovery. The gimmick in this is a device that can extract, record and play a person's memories. The inventor is found dead, and his wife retreats into her home until a mysterious man shows up and begins investigating what exactly happened. Peter Dinklage stars, with Julia Ormond, Martin Donovan, Evelyne Brochu, Henry Ian Cusick, and the late Anton Yelchin. The film received pretty bad reviews out of Sundance, and while I am somewhat intrigued, this trailer doesn't really grab me. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Mark Palansky's Rememory, direct »
