'The Big Bang Theory' premiere: Chaos followed by order

22 September 2011 7:32 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Well, it appears that Raj and Penny's tryst caused at least a momentary upset in the cosmic order among "The Big Bang Theory" crew. And not necessarily among those you might think.

[Spoiler Alert]

It was expected Leonard (Johnny Galecki) would be disappointed that his friend and his former girlfriend, whom he clearly still has feelings for, hooked up. But the added surprise came from Harold (Simon Helberg) who felt betrayed because, for some delusional reason, he thought he stood a chance with Penny (Kaley Cuoco) too. To add another layer of confusion, it's revealed that Raj (Kunal Nayyar) once wrote less-than-subtle love poems to Harold's fiancee Bernadette (Melissa Rauch).

So the group is now living the chaos theory. But how will they react?

Starving for love, Raj looks to make a go of it with Penny, but she quickly heads off his advances.

'The Big Bang Theory' preview: Will the Raj and Penny experiment have a positive outcome?

22 September 2011 3:25 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

As far as comedy cliffhangers go, "The Big Bang Theory" gave us an Avogadro's number at the end of last season.

When last we joined our group of geeks, Raj and Penny engaged in a covalent bond, Leonard and Priya's relationship seemed to be undergoing exponential decay and Howard and Bernadette's partnership appears to be headed for a tensile strength test. And then there's whatever Sheldon does, which is typically talk about things we're not smart enough to understand.

Here's some of what we have to look forward to during Thursday's (Sept. 22) premiere and for the rest of Season 5...

Raj and Penny -- This probably should be items #1 and #2 given how unlikely this pairing is. Raj (Kunal Nayyar) can't talk to women unless he's been drinking and Penny (Kaley Cuoco), well, she's never really expressed an interest in Raj. So the fact that last season concluded with a 'big bang' »

The Big Bang Theory Boss: Raj and Penny's Hookup Is Karma for Leonard

21 September 2011 7:01 PM, PDT | TVGuide - Breaking News | See recent TVGuide - Breaking News news »

Of all the possible Big Bang Theory couplings, do any of them make for stranger bedfellows than Raj and Penny?

"I really don't think so! Especially if my reaction means anything," executive producer Steve Molaro tells TVGuide.com. "I remember Chuck [Lorre], Bill [Prady] and I were in the writers' room breaking the season finale and that story of [Raj and Penny sleeping together] came up. I think I had a strong reaction to it — facially. I was like, 'Really?!' I think Chuck was so amused by how strong my reaction was that he was like, 'Well, now we have to do it!'"

2011 Emmy Awards Nails: Do You Prefer Classic Kate Winslet’s Or Wild Kaley Cuoco’s?

19 September 2011 6:10 AM, PDT | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

Is the Emmy Awards a time to take a fun beauty risk like Kaley or should you keep it classic like Kate?

Kate Winslet‘s mani/pedi was done by Deborah Lippmann. Deborah did two coats of Like A Virgin on her toes and one coat on her hands. The result was a nearly-clear, polished look. Manicurist, Beth Fricke, did Kaley Cuoco‘s two-toned style. She has Opi Over the Taupe on her fingers with Opi Big Apple Red only on her ring fingers.

When being interviewed by Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet, Kaley’s nails instantly caught his eye. She explained that she was just in the mood for something fun. This is definitely a trend that has had a long life. Celebs have been wearing the two-tones manicure look for months now!

That The Big Bang Theory will, for the first time, be vying for Best Comedy Series at Sunday night’s Emmy Awards comes as no surprise. Katie LeClerc for Raj in Big Bang Theory Season 5

Katie Leclerc, who stars on ABC Family’s Swithed at Birth, is guest starring in the fifth season of The Big Bang Theory as a potential love interest for… Raj! In the big scheme of the series, Raj (Kunal Nayyar) has always drawn the short stick when it comes to love on the hit CBS sitcom. All of his friends have found it in some way. Howard (Simon Helberg) is getting married; Sheldon (Jim Parsons) has a bizarre companion ship with Amy Farrah Fowler; and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) has two women pining after his affections. Poor Raj can’t even talk to women unless he’s drunk.

But The Big Bang Theory has come up with a nifty little loophole that could end with Raj happily united with a woman. Leclerc will play Emily, a deaf friend of Penny’s, in the fourth episode of the new season. Raj doesn »

PSA Sunday: Batgirl (Yvonne Craig) Addresses the Federal Equal Pay Law

4 September 2011 2:46 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

With news being slow on the weekends, a few nonths ago I started PSA Sunday.  As you can probably deduce from the title, every Sunday I post a PSA featuring TV or movie characters and/or celebrities.  The first few focused on vintage Star Wars PSA’s (the Cantina aliens in a “Friends don’t let friends drive drunk” campaign, C3P0 and R2D2 talking about the dangers of whooping cough, and C3PO/R2D2 warning you about smoking), Clint Eastwood telling you not to do crack cocaine, the Transformers warning kids about running away from home and not to bike without reflectors, and the last two weeks featured Nathan Fillion talking about Swamp Ass and Kaley Cuoco addressing an important issue affecting cosplay girls across the globe: Slave Leia fatigue. For this weekend's PSA, I've got Yvonne Craig (Batgirl) addressing the equal pay laws from the 60's. »

Review: Hop

4 September 2011 2:36 PM, PDT | Pure Movies | See recent Pure Movies news »

This is the Pure Movies review of Hop, directed by Tim Hill and starring Russell Brand, James Marsden, Kaley Cuoco, Hank Azaria, Gary Cole, Elizabeth Perkins, Hugh Laurie, Tiffany Espensen and David Hasselhoff. Written by Lisa Keddie for Pure Movies. Admittedly, Russell Brand is an acquired taste, and if that taste is slowly turning sour in the mouth after endless media reports about the Brand marriage and rising Brand transatlantic stardom, you would be forgiven for releasing a disparaging groan at the mere mention of Hop – a film voiced by Brand. Much as this thought first curled the toes, the comedian actually tones down his (often) X-rated banter to bring as much heart, spirit and soul to little E.B., the Easter Bunny-in-waiting that it’s hard to wipe the silly smile off your face and grumble. And parents can breathe a sigh of relief, too – their little darlings will »
