Dr Al Jenkins is to leave 'EastEnders' in February. Adam Croasdell, who first appeared as hunky Dr Jenkins in May 2009, is already heading to pastures new. He said: ''I've worked closely with and befriended a lot of fantastic actors while I've been at 'EastEnders'. ''I'm very grateful for my time on the show, and for all the support shown to me by the wonderful viewers who've followed my storylines and been so kind when I've met them.'' The character will leave Albert Square in February 2010, heading to Cornwall to work with his father, who runs a rural surgery. Dr Jenkins .. »

EastEnders actor Adam Croasdell will bow out of the show in the early part of next year, Digital Spy can exclusively confirm. The 29-year-old - who plays resident Gp Dr Al Jenkins - recently finished filming with the East-End soap and is about to embark on a charity trip to Malawi with relief and development organisation World Vision. Speaking of his exit, Croasdell told Digital Spy: "I have worked with and befriended a lot of fantastic actors while I have been at EastEnders. I am very grateful for my time on the show and all the support shown to me to me by the wonderful viewers who have followed my storylines and been so supportive. I see it as a chapter in my ongoing work as an actor - as I am always interested in new challenges, so I am looking forward to future projects." He is expected to make his screen exit in February. »

Seven years ago as a young and struggling actor, long before it became fashionable, actor Adam Croasdell – to date best known for his role as “Dr Al Jenkins” in the BBC’s award winning flagship show EastEnders – chose to sponsor a child in Malawi with the charity World Vision.
Recently named a Celebrity Ambassador for the charity, he will shortly visit the East African Country with the organization, where for the first time he will meet “Jacob” from Kayezi Adp, about 90 minutes from Mzuzu north of the country.

EastEnders' actor Adam Croasdell is to take a break from filming with the BBC show to visit his sponsor child in Malawi with World Vision. The 29-year-old - Dr Al Jenkins in the Walford soap - was recently named a celebrity ambassador for the Christian relief and development organisation and is due to visit the East African republic to meet Jacob, who he sponsored seven years ago. EastEnders actor Adam Croasdell has taken on the role of James Bond for the latest 007 video game. The soap star, who plays Walford's Dr Al Jenkins, revealed that he was thrilled to be offered the part because he is keen to keep his career varied. In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Crosdell confirmed: "Oddly enough I have just played James Bond in the new James Bond video game - how weird is that?
