Craft, who played the state tournament official in Hoosiers, was in
fact an Indiana All-Star guard for the Milan Indians team whose story
was the inspiration for the film. In the 1954 state championship game,
won on a jumper in the closing seconds by the team's top player
(mirrored in the movie), it was Craft who actually led the team in
scoring.
