Fred Covington was born on July 1, 1928 as Alfred Covington. He was an actor, known for Norma Rae (1979), They Went That-A-Way & That-A-Way (1978) and The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings (1976). He died on July 28, 1993 in Marietta, Georgia, USA.

Trivia (2)

In 1978, he recorded the time announcement for the U.S. Naval Observatory Master Clock, which as of this 2008 posting can still be heard by dialing (202) 762-1401 or (719) 567-6742. His voice was originally recorded on mechanical machines, but transfered to digital media later.
Did a near perfect Rodney Dangerfield impersonation, as well as a very entertaining magic act.
