Gareth Cousins has over 25 years experience in working on music for picture. Originally an engineer/producer at EMI's Abbey Road Studios, he has since become a busy producer/mixer and composer of music for film, television and advertising, and for recording artists.
He composed the scores for the award winning films, End Of The Road, The Craftsman, The Un-Gone, Magic Hour and Studs, and co-composed the scores for Titanic Town (BBC Films) and The Long Run. With Phil Collins, he co-wrote the score to Arktos.
His film music production/mixing credits recently include the BAFTA award winning score for Gravity (Warner), The World's End (Working Title) and Attack The Block (StudioCanal). He also recorded and mixed the scores for the BAFTA and Brit award-winning Notting Hill, Thirteen Days, From Hell, Dark City and Desperate Measures. Working with Sting on The Mighty produced a Golden Globe nomination. Music editing work on Batman Begins resulted in an MPSE Golden Reel Nomination.
His television work includes composing the music for films and TV series' for BBC1&2, ITV1, Channel 4, Five, Sky One, UKTV, Virgin and Discovery channels in the UK and many US and overseas broadcasters.
Animation work includes composing the score and title music for the Impossible TV's, The Beeps (65 episodes) and Castle Farm (2 x 25 episodes) and sound design for 50 episodes of Gaspard and Lisa.
Recent commercial composition work includes FIFA (2014 World Cup), Comic Relief, UEFA, CAPCOM (Steel Battalion game), Rolls-Royce, Motorola and Cadbury.
He has produced or engineered recordings for many artistes including Sting, Elvis Costello, Phil Collins, Vanessa Mae, Boyzone, Shania Twain, Ronan Keating, Roger Daltry, Chesney Hawkes; representing tens of millions of sales around the world. He produced the first songs for the pop string quartet girl band "Bond", whose debut album, Born was #1 in 21 charts worldwide. Most recently he has been producing albums for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
