Movie of the Week

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1

The Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint

The Plot: Harry, Ron and Hermione set out on a treacherous quest to hunt down and destroy the secret to Voldemort’s immortality — the Horcruxes.

The Buzz: I am the least qualified to helm a discussion on the buzz surrounding Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows. I’m the least qualified to discuss anything at all about Harry Potter, as I’ve read a mere ten pages of the first book, and only recently caught up with the films. The North American Trailer for Frederico Zampaglione's Shadow is Live

15 October 2010 3:16 PM, PDT | 28 Days Later Analysis | See recent 28 Days Later Analysis news »

Shadow Movie PosterFormer Rockstar Frederico Zampaglione's Shadow now has a North American trailer for horror fans. This newest clip, which is quite different from the previous seen (here), shows a couple on a mountain bike adventure in the Alps. Enter in some degenerate hunters and Nazi experiments, then there is a great deal of conflict to be had. This is a film that this reviewer has been looking forward to and apparently this film is available now on IFC Film's Midnight feature (Twitch). However, this cannot be confirmed by the enigma that is also know as the IFC Film website. The trailer is below.

A synopsis for Shadow here:

"A soldier returning from a tour of duty in Iraq goes on a mountain bike adventure in the Alps to forget his battle weary past. In the woods he meets a pretty young stranger who tells him about a local myth concerning a nazi experiment camp. »

4 August 2010 5:21 PM, PDT | 28 Days Later Analysis | See recent 28 Days Later Analysis news »

Ikav Movie PosterWhenever this reviewer sees horror and musicals combined there is only one word, or maybe three - wtf?! I Kissed a Vampire dares to be a little different by blending these two genres and in doing so something magical happens. Teenagers emerge from coffins, girls awkwardly sing in their bedrooms and no neck is safe, as quiet Dylan turns in to an opera singing bloodsucker. Watch the comedy unfold in this first trailer for I Kissed a Vampire, inside.

A partial synopsis for I Kissed a Vampire here:

"Haunted by bizarre dreams about goth rocker Trey Sylvania (Drew Seeley, High School Musical, Another Cinderella Story), with a growing lust for blood, Dylan (Lucas Grabeel, High School Musical, Milk) is not your average teenager—he’s transforming into a vampire! It all started when he was bitten by a voracious fanged exchange student, and it’s a process he »

12 February 2010 8:21 AM, PST | | See recent news »

Image Ent. has acquired all North American rights to Jinga Films' supernatural horror Finale. Described as an homage to Dario Argento's Suspiria, John Michael Elfers' debut feature stars Carolyn Von Hauck as a grieving mother who discovers that her deceased son had been dabbling in black magic. Image has skedded the release for May. On Monday, Jinga announced it had added Federico Zampaglione's psychological horror Shadow to its Berlin market slate. Produced by Massimo Ferrero, the English-language, Italian horror pic stars Jake Muxworthy (Borderland), Karina Testa (Frontiere), Chris Coppola (Friday 13th) and Nuot Arquint (The Passion of Christ). The pic centers on an American Iraq War vet whose romantic vacation in the Italian Alps turns into a Deliverance-style nightmare after a confrontation with local hunters. »
