Backstage WWE Heat On Sasha Banks Raw Promo! | WrestleTalk News

8 September 2016 8:48 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

While Michael Cole reminds us that this is the New Era at every opportunity, a lot of people have another name for this phase of WWE: The Injury Era.

Seth Rollins was out of action until May after he blew his knee out last year. Both John Cena and Cesaro have undergone shoulder surgery. Randy Orton didn’t wrestle all year until last month because of injuries. Bray Wyatt manages to damage himself every other month. Finn Balor, a day after he became the first ever WWE Universal Champion at Summerslam, had to forfeit his title because of a shoulder injury – the list goes on.

But at least all those guys have or should be able to get back in the ring. The last year or so have seen three career ending injuries – Tyson Kidd narrowly avoided paralysis when severely hurting his neck off a Samoa Joe Muscle Buster »

‘Star Trek’ 50th Anniversary: Cast, Creators, Fans Choose Favorite Episodes

8 September 2016 5:00 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

When “Star Trek” premiered 50 years ago today, its reception was colder than the weather outside the Klingon penal colony on Rura Penthe.

“And away we go to another planet for the sci-fi buffs to lick the plate clean,” Variety‘s Sept. 8, 1966 review of the premiere episode, “The Man Trap,” declared. “But there had better be a hefty cargo of them or the Nielsen samplers may come up short.” Predicting doom, it continued, “The opener won’t open up many new frequencies after this sampler.” So not exactly boffo.

The review was typical of the initial response to Gene Roddenberry’s science fiction drama. After a troubled development that saw the initial pilot scrapped and a new one with mostly new characters — the only holdover being Leonard Nimoy’s Spock — created from scratch, “Star Trek” hung on for a short while, renewed for a second, then a third season before being cancelled.

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

The 8/22/16 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw reviewed in about 4 minutes – including Finn Balor forfeiting his newly won WWE Universal Championship, and how he’ll be on the shelf for the next six months from injury, Bayley is called up to the Raw roster, the Dudley Boyz leave the company and more…

Raw opened with Steph-oley announcing that Finn Balor injured his shoulder at the previous night’s Summerslam, and that he’ll be out of action for six months – meaning he has to give up his WWE Universal Title.

Balor cut a rather monotone ‘I’ll be back’ babyface promo, before that thing happened where wrestlers come out one-by-one to challenge for the title. Stepholy announced four one-on-one matches for tonight, with the winners going onto a fatal fourway for the Universal Championship next week. »

Long before Deadpool set the box office on fire with a record breaking opening weekend of $132.4 million, the highest ever for an R-rated movie, there was already talk of Deadpool 2. Rumors surfaced that the studio was planning on swapping out their planned Fantastic Four 2 sequel in favor of a Deadpool follow-up. After becoming the highest grossing R-rated movie ever, we know the sequel is coming, but we don't know exactly when. During the Saturn Awards last night, however, producer Simon Kinberg dropped a big hint.

Collider caught up with producer Simon Kinberg, who revealed that original Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are finishing up work on the script. Unfortunately, he wouldn't divulge any story details. But he did say when they hope to start shooting.

Looks Like We Have Another Famous Contender For Cable In Deadpool 2

29 May 2016 9:12 AM, PDT | | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Ever since a bathrobe-clad Deadpool declared in his after credits scene that Deadpool 2 would have Cable in it, plenty of actors have stepped forward wanting to play the X-Men badass. This is probably the most attention Cable has gotten since the 90’s. The latest actor to throw his hat into the ring is Adam Copeland, but wrestling fans may know him better as Edge. Copeland recently responded to a fan, who felt it would be interesting to see the former wrestler put on a different kind of tights. Apparently, Copeland thought it was an interesting idea as well.   Yeah I could behind that — Adam (Edge) Copeland (@EdgeRatedR) May 27, 2016   I’m not a big wrestling fan, so I can’t say I know much about Edge, but if we’re going by appearance alone then I can definitely »

Win Haven: The Final Season On Blu-Ray Right Here!

15 April 2016 9:15 AM, PDT | | See recent AreYouScreening news »

Haven has always been one of those shows that seems to pull people into its own rewatchability. There’s something about the bizarre nature of the troubles, and the long-arc connections, that opens the door for going through it all more than once.

That is arguably never more true than the series’ final season, and here’s your chance to win a copy of the Blu-Ray. (3 winners will be randomly selected to receive a copy of the Blu-Ray)

It all comes together as the series wraps, but making it through to the end is anything but simple, and I think the show delivered something that fans could hold onto as an ending worthy of the time they’d spent with the quirky crew of the show.

But, more than just taking the ride again, or for the first time, the release is loaded with extras.

‘Straight Outta Dudleyville: The Legacy of the Dudley Boyz’ Review

12 April 2016 5:24 AM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

If you are an old school fan of Ecw there are certain factions and stars that tend to stand out. For me the Dudley Boyz were one such faction. In Ecw, WWE, and beyond they created a pathway to destruction that has made them one of the best tag teams in history. Straight Outta Dudleyville: The Legacy of the Dudley Boyz gives the WWE version of this history.

As is usual in these types of sets, we get a short documentary about Bubba Ray and D-Von looking at how they got into wrestling, all the way up to their return to the WWE. The documentary is fun, and even gives part of the history that some fans may be unaware of. While the documentary may feel a little short, it pays respect not only to their Ecw years, but even dares to mention Bubba’s success in Tna.

‘Haven: Season 5 Volume 2 – The Final Episodes’ Review

11 April 2016 2:12 AM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

If you are going to watch a television show, the worst time to start is in its final episodes. I found myself doing this though for the recent release of Haven: Season 5 Volume 2 – The Final Episodes. What I found though was a show that I really enjoyed and will be investing my time in, from the beginning.

Haven is a cursed town where “troubled” people have mysterious powers that often cause trouble for the people who are trying to protect it. As the story nears its end a mysterious fog has cut the town off from the rest of the world and a showdown is looming with the mysterious “Croatoan” that appears to be on its way.

While it felt strange that Haven: Season 5 Volume 2 – The Final Episodes gets into the story straight away, it is telling of Syfy’s aggressive advertising for the show that I had »
