Canadian born Cooper was first seen as the host of the Canadian TV's news magazine, Ombudsman. He later surfaced in the US and started HBO Pictures. Where he oversaw Barbarians at the Gate, And the Band Played On and many other original movies. Later he took over as the studio head at Tri-Star (overseeing Jerry Maguire, Stepmom, & My Best Friends Wedding.) and at Dreamworks, where he made his name shpherding American Beauty. After his departure from SKG, he started Landscape Entertainment with Ivan Fecan of CTV. Landscape merged with Artisan pictures where Cooper was named co-chair along with Amir Malin. Malin & his sidekick Ken Shapiro ran Cooper out after they spent his money, and Cooper landed on his feet, creating a new Landscape Entertainment with a first-look deal at New Line. He currently has 5 pictures set up there, and has Sleepover in production at MGM.
