Samantha Bee’s ‘Not the Whcd’ Should Be An Annual Tradition If Trump Continues to Boycott the Real One

17 hours ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Hours before “nerd prom” kicked off at the White House Correspondents Dinner in D.C. — minus the president — Samantha Bee and her “Full Frontal” cohorts took the stage at Dar Constitution Hall for TBS’ “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.” The alt-tv special was more than twice the length of a regular “Full Frontal” episode, letting Bee’s typical ruthless comedy and satire loose with both barrels.

If viewers tuned in hoping for an hour of bashing President Trump, they were in for some disappointment. Not that there weren’t some excellent barbs made at Potus’ expense, but the night was more about celebrating the often-maligned journalists who continue to try to do their jobs in the face of adversity.

“You (journalists) basically get paid to stand in a cage while a geriatric orangutan and his pet mob scream at you. It’s like a reverse zoo. But you carry on. You »

25 April 2017 10:23 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Tucker Carlson’s 8 p.m. debut on Fox News on Monday night was good enough to come within striking distance of Bill O’Reilly’s last broadcast in the time slot on the network.

Carlson averaged 3.2 million total viewers in the hour, with 636,000 of those falling in the key adults 25-54 demographic. O’Reilly’s final broadcast on April 11 drew 3.6 million viewers with 634,000 in the demo. Gutfeld drew 2.3 million viewers with 375,000 in the demo. That same night, Carlson drew 2.2 million viewers and 356,000 in the demo in his last outing at 9.

John Oliver to French Voters: Don't 'F--k Up' and Elect Your Own Trump

On Sunday's Last Week Tonight, John Oliver pleaded with French voters not to "fuck up" and elect their own President Trump in the country's upcoming election.

The first round of France's presidential election begins next Sunday, and the comedian echoed the grave sentiments of many political commentators: "It is not an exaggeration to say that, post-Brexit and with a wave of far-right populism sweeping Europe, the fate of the EU may hang on this election," he warned. Anderson Cooper Has to Laugh When Trump Realizes That Diplomacy Is ‘Not So Easy’

When you’re as high a profile news journalist and anchor as Anderson Cooper is, one of the thing you ride your reputation on is being professional.  It’s Cooper’s job to provide a level of tact and seriousness to virtually any situation and topic he discusses.  You’ll rarely catch Cooper in a moment of laughter or “shock” while he’s hosting his CNN show.  Off camera and in interviews you’ll see a more lax Anderson Cooper but when it comes to CNN, he’s a pretty stoic character. However, yesterday when Cooper learned that Donald Trump said that diplomacy is “not so easy”
