Cornelia Froboess was born on October 28, 1943 in Wriezen, Brandenburg, Germany. She is an actress, known for Veronika Voss (1982), Knockin' on Heaven's Door (1997) and Angst hat eine kalte Hand (1996). She has been married to Hellmuth Matiasek since August 3, 1967. They have two children.

First recipient of the 'Kulturpreis Friedrich S.', an award honoring important persons, in Mannheim, Germany (1997).
Her daughter Agnes was born in 1968.
Her son Kasper was born in 1970.
Daughter of Gerhard Froboess, whose composition "Pack die Badehose ein" (Pack Your Swimsuit) became a hit and made her Germany's first child star (1951).
Was type casted as "Berliner Göre" (girl from Berlin), especially in musical films together with Peter Kraus. They became admired teen idols in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
The song "Zwei kleine Italiener" (Two Little Italians), Germany's entry at The Eurovision Song Contest (1962), has been her only number 1 hit.
