Castle Hill Prods. has acquired U.S. theatrical rights to Jacky Comforty's documentary The Optimists, which recounts the rescue of 50,000 Bulgarian Jews from the Holocaust by their friends and neighbors. The film won the Peace Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival and a prize for documenting the Jewish experience at the Jerusalem International Film Festival. The deal was negotiated by Comforty and Castle Hill Prods.' president of marketing and distribution Mel Maron.
