Miriam Colon was born on August 20, 1936 in Ponce, Puerto Rico as Miriam Colon Valle. She is known for her work on Scarface (1983), Goal! The Dream Begins (2005) and Sabrina (1995). She was married to Fred Valle and George Paul Edgar. She died on March 3, 2017 in New York City, New York, USA.

Trivia (9)

Founder of the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater in New York City.
Has been in two movies with Marlon Brando, both westerns: The Appaloosa (1966) and One-Eyed Jacks (1961).
Despite playing a handicapped character on Guiding Light (1952), she does not use a wheelchair in real life.
Lifetime Member of the Actors' Studio.
Was a close and dear friend of legendary Cuban singer La Lupe. When she passed away, Colon provided a sizable amount of the funds needed to purchase her headstone.
She made guest appearances on both of the longest-running prime time dramas in US television history: Gunsmoke (1955) and Law & Order (1990).
Was only four years older than Al Pacino when she played his mother in Scarface (1983).
She was awarded the National Medal of the Arts in 2015 for her services and contribution to theatre.
Survived by her husband Fred, stepson Fabian Valle, stepdaughter Wendy Valle, and four grandchildren.
