Nashville: Season Two Ratings

3 April 2014 2:06 PM, PDT | | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Last season, it looked like Nashville might be cancelled but ABC decided to renew the show instead. Will the ratings rise in season two so its future is assured or will the numbers drop so it cancelled this time? We'll have to wait and see.

The Nashville TV show revolves around a rising country star (Hayden Panettiere) and a legendary superstar (Connie Britton) whose fame is fading. Others in the cast are Charles Esten, Eric Close, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Chris Carmack, Lennon Stella, and Maisy Stella.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- usually the next day, around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to see the latest. »

Did 'Nashville' out-soap itself in 'Too Far Gone?'

5 February 2014 8:30 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Up until now, "Nashville" has been able to walk the very fine line between drama and soap opera (minus the whole Season 1 finale car crash, of course). But on Wednesday (Feb. 5), the ABC southern series officially cemented its status as a soap.

Sure, the drama was always present in copious amounts, but as mayor of Nashville Teddy Conrad (Eric Close) watches his ex-con, ex-father-in-law Lamar Wyatt (Powers Boothe) drop to the ground in front of him with his second (!) heart attack and does nothing while the man dies right in front of his eyes as revenge for Lamar orchestrating Teddy's wife's murder, it can't be denied any more. "Nashville" is a soap opera.

Now, it's not like that's a horrible thing. Soap operas are entertaining with their over-the-top drama and are a great distraction from everyday life -- which is really all TV is. But what "Nashville" loses as a »

On ABC's Nashville, Rayna's (Connie Britton) love life is growing more complicated by the minute. After splitting from Teddy (Eric Close) last season, the country music diva has revived her career thanks to bad-boy Liam (Michiel Huisman), found a new love interest in fellow star Luke (Will Chase) and, after a near-death car crash, still can't seem to shake her attraction to former flame Deacon (Charles Esten). While fans are still rooting for Rayna and Deacon to find solid footing again -- they have a shared interest in the emotional (and musical) well-being of their daughter, Maddie (Lennon
