2 September 2016 3:53 PM, PDT | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – When meeting an interview subject for the third time, and remembering him as the first professional interview I ever did, results in a comfortable familiarity. Director Ira Sachs is the subject, and his latest film is “Little Men.” Taking on adolescent friendship, adult passive-aggressiveness and gentrification all in one film, it also spotlights the expansiveness of this talented filmmaker.

Little Men” features Greg Kinnear in one of his best performances, as a guilty and conflicted property inheritor named Brian who now lives in Brooklyn, in the midst of the hottest real estate markets in America. His late father owned the property, which included a dressmaker’s shop run by Leonor (Paulina García), who cared for her landlord more than his heirs. Meanwhile, Brian’s son Jake (Theo Taplitz), has found a friend and fellow traveler in Tony (Michael Barbieri), who happens to be Leonor’s son. Property, negotiations and »

Today, the actor revealed that Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy) has also joined the cast. Dwayne Johnson broke the news himself earlier today on Instgram and his other social media accounts. ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot Cast Says Internet Trolls Are ‘Crazy People’ & ‘The Minority’

Ghostbusters” is one of the most talked-about movies of the summer, though much of the chatter has been negative. Controversy has surrounded Paul Feig’s reboot of the beloved franchise since its inception, with many objecting to the very notion of the female-led take of the 1984 original. Melissa McCarthy has spoken out about the backlash to Entertainment Weekly, saying that the original characters “weren’t real either. It’s a movie. I can’t make heads or tails of it, and then I never gave it another thought. You just have to go, ‘Well, I hope you get out a little more. The world is fun.’ I really think it’s the minority.”

Patricia Clarkson and Kristin Scott Thomas will be in a movie together

Murtada here. Iconoclastic British filmmaker Sally Potter (Orlando, The Man Who Cried, Ginger & Rosa) started shooting her new movie The Party, this week. The film, which unfolds in real time, revolves around a drinks party held by a London couple to celebrate the wife’s promotion to minister in the Shadow Cabinet. It is described by its producers like so:

a comedy wrapped around a tragedy. It starts as a celebration and ends with blood on the floor.”

Intriguing.

The cast includes Emily Mortimer, Cillian Murphy, Timothy Spall, Bruno Ganz, Cherry Jones and two Tfe favorites Kristin Scott Thomas and Patricia Clarkson. One of whom might be playing the lead role of the celebrated minister. Since the movie is set in London we are guessing Scott Thomas. Not that we don't think Clarkson can rock an English accent »
