FrightFest 2017: ‘Return of the Living Dead 3’Review: Dir. Brain Yuzna

Return of the Living Dead 3 Review: Frightfest goes retro with this 90’s zombie gem. Return of the Living Dead 3 Review

FrightFest can be offer the opportunity to un-earth old curiosities that you may have seen long ago adorning your local video rental’s shelves, those movies with a striking image that burn into a young subconscious. Return of the Living Dead 3 is one such film for this reviewer, the image being of Melinda Clarke in her spiky punk glory looking straight at you with an infected zombie gaze that was a mixture of threatening and alluring. The years passed, the rental shopped changed catalogue, and the Return of the Living Dead 3 receded into the background of my mind, seemingly destined to dwell in the realm of pre-adolescent fascination and obscurity. Until FrightFest 2017 that is.

Return of the Living Dead 3 follows young lovers Curt (J. Trevor Edmond

‘Return of the Living Dead 3′ Blu-ray Review (Vestron Video)

Stars: Kent McCord, J. Trevor Edmond, Melinda Clarke, Basil Wallace, Sarah Douglas | Written by John Penney | Directed by Brian Yuzna

These days he might be making nonsense like Amphibious Creature of the Deep, but Brian Yuzna’s directorial career began on a high with the excellent body horror satire Society, followed up by a good Re-Animator sequel. Then in 1993 came Return of the Living Dead 3, which, while not matching Dan O’Bannon’s 1985 original, goes some way to righting the wrongs of Part II.

Experiments with “Trioxin” gas began in 1969. The idea was to resurrect the dead and use them as a zombie army. It didn’t go so well, and now the cadavers are locked away in tanks in a temporary government facility. (The facility recalls Day of the Dead’s underground bunker, although it looks rather like a Red Dwarf set at times.)

The Vampire Diaries Round Table: Is Bonnie Dead?!?

Could Bonnie Bennett be dead?

That was a key question on The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 15 when the bell from hell apparently killed our favorite psychic/witch.

TV Fanatics Justin Carreiro, Mandy Treccia and Paul Dailly, discuss the wedding, Bonnie's fate and what's to come in the series finale.

What did you think of the Steroline wedding?

Justin: The design of the wedding and the hall looked beautiful. I liked all the lights at the party. Though, it felt a bit awkward and anticlimactic. I was expecting a grander ceremony and moment, but it seemed sweet.

Mandy: I loved it. They did a lovely job paying homage to their relationship. The friendship that slowly turned to love, or in Caroline's case, the unrequited crush, which turned to love. The ceremony was beautiful, but the dance they shared was even better. Dancing always been their thing.

Paul: I loved it. It

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 15 Review: We're Planning a June Wedding

What happens when Katherine Pierce gets wind of the love of her life marrying someone else?

A hellish, explosive and downright shocking wedding.

Yes, you guys, the Steroline June Wedding was the primary focus of The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 15 and, boy, it was it a fantastic hour of television.

Who knew Stefan and Caroline would be getting married under such dire circumstances? I mean, they've been to hell and back. (Not literally; that seems to be what it takes to become a Donovan these days.)

So much has happened between them. The odds were stacked against them from the start, but seeing them get their happy ending was a powerful moment for the series.

Let's talk about how stunning Candice King looked as a bride. Have a look...

The award for the best-dressed bride on the small screen has to go to Caroline Forbes.

It's just a shame that

The Vampire Diaries Pictures: Who's Returning?!?

The Vampire Diaries is saving a lot of crazy returns for the end of the series.

Just released pictures for The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 15 confirm that Melinda Clarke will be staging a comeback as Matt's horrible mother, Kelly Donovan.

Kelly was last seen on The Vampire Diaries Season 1 when it became apparent she had a thing for younger guys, prompting Matt to tell her to leave Mystic Falls and never look back.

There have been rumblings for quite some time that the character would be returning before the series concludes, but this is the first official confirmation of it.

Considering the way she's holding a microphone in the pictures, it sure seems like she's trying to take on a leadership role.

The episode will center on the gang throwing a fake wedding to lure Cade out of the darkness to take him out of the equation for good.

Kelly

Blu-ray Review: Return Of The Living Dead 3 Vestron Video Collector’s Series

  • DailyDead
Given just how lousy with zombies our current pop culture climate has become over the last decade or so, it’s hard to remember that the walking dead were out of favor as recently as the 1990s. The decade had a few bright spots (Peter Jackson’s Dead Alive, aka Braindead is a stone-cold classic, as is Michele Soavi’s Dellamorte Dellamore, aka Cemetery Man), but on the whole there weren’t a lot of memorable zombie movies coming out of the Clinton decade. Well, along comes the new Vestron Video Collector’s Series Blu-ray of Brian Yuzna’s Return of the Living Dead 3 to remind us that at least one more terrific zombie movie did come out in the ’90s, but many horror fans slept on it. Hopefully that changes now.

Pretty much a sequel in name only, 1993’s Return of the Living Dead 3 bears almost no

Spawn Reboot Will Be Dark, R-Rated and Scary Says Creator Todd McFarlane

Spawn Reboot Will Be Dark, R-Rated and Scary Says Creator Todd McFarlane
Were you disappointed by the Spawn movie that hit theaters way back in 1997? So was creator Todd McFarlane. And he plans to rectify that with a new remake/reboot that will be nothing like the original movie. He's finished his screenplay, and now, appearing on the latest episode of AMC's Geeking Out, he has revealed exactly what this new big screen iteration of his iconic comic book and action figure line will be.

Earlier this year, McFarlane confirmed that he'd completed the script for a new Spawn movie, calling it 'massive'. Since that update, though, he's remained fairly quiet on the matter. At the time, he explained that he still needed to whittle the huge screenplay down by at least 45 pages, bringing it in at a still somewhat long 140 pages. If one page equals one minute of screen time, that still means this remake will clock in at over two hours.

Gotham season 2 episode 17 review: Into The Woods...

Ed's villainy comes to light as Oswald makes a meal of his step-family...

This review contains spoilers.

2.17 Into The Woods

On this week's Gotham, it was the best of times (for the first half of this episode), it was the worst of times (for the second half of this episode). I am being hyperbolic. All in all, this was a pretty great episode. Unfortunately, the momentum built up in the first half of the episode — and in the larger Ed becomes Riddler plot — was squandered in a too-fast, too-easy wrap-up. Oh well. We'll always have that scene of Ed electrocuting Jim in his apartment...

First, let's talk about what was great in this episode. Like many of the best episodes of Gotham (this one included), Into The Woods did a good job of bringing formerly disparate elements of the plot together by focusing on one urgent element.
