'Last Comic Standing' returning to NBC

13 November 2013 3:15 PM, PST | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Did you hear the one about the stand-up comedy competition that returned to NBC after a four-year hiatus?

We actually don’t have a punchline for that question. Because we’re not comics. But the contestants are on Last Comic Standing are comics. And NBC is bringing back the show after taking an extended break from the format.

The eighth season of Last Comic Standing, which first launched in 2003, will air next summer on NBC. The broadcaster actually cancelled the series in 2004 after three cycles, but then brought it back in 2006. After the seventh season in 2010, the show went off the air again, »

Paul Bhattacharjee obituary

19 July 2013 2:47 AM, PDT | The Guardian - TV News | See recent The Guardian - TV News news »

Elegant and meticulous actor whose work ranged from Shakespeare to EastEnders

Paul Bhattacharjee, who has been found dead aged 53, was one of the country's leading British Asian actors, a key member of Jatinder Verma's Tara Arts, a regular at the Royal Shakespeare Company – he was last seen in the West End last year, playing Benedick opposite Meera Syal in the RSC's Much Ado About Nothing – and a popular television and film actor whose roles included Inzamam in the BBC soap EastEnders, an immigration officer called Mohammed in Stephen Frears's Dirty Pretty Things (2002) and parts in the Bond movie Casino Royale (2006) and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011).

He was tall, slim and naturally funny, always meticulous in his movement and perfect in his articulation. He reminded me of an elegant bird – a heron, perhaps, or a flamingo. His eyes twinkled as much as they burned. He slowed things down, rather than speeded them up, »

Now, a paid 'no sex' male escort service for gals looking for groovy dates

6 February 2013 2:21 AM, PST | RealBollywood.com | See recent RealBollywood news »

Melbourne, Feb 6: A male escort company from Australia thinks there's a market in Brisbane for a non-sexual escort service.

However, critics doubt that women will take to the idea, instead, preferring genuine companionship.

Male Escorts Brisbane, which is the brainchild of entrepreneur Anthony Clark, said that he believed the agency was the first of its kind in the River City for women seeking male company.

"I'm guessing there are quite a few lonely ladies out there who are reasonably wealthy and looking for companionship either for dinner or for an activity," the Courier Mail quoted him as saying.

He said that. »

North And Hastings' 'Galaga' Webcomic Is The Best Argument To Keep Nasa Alive

23 January 2013 11:11 AM, PST | MTV Multiplayer | See recent MTV Multiplayer news »

De-fund the American space agency, leave the planet open to invasion by massive space bees--that's the argument I'm getting from Ryan North and Christopher Hastings' "Galaga" webcomic. The "Invasion" storyline has just begun, and you should be reading it.

The strip launched over on gaming-themed comics site Shifty Look, with a script by "Dinosaur Comics" writer Ryan North and "The Adventures of Dr. McNinja" creator Christopher Hastings. Both writers are adept at taking the absurd and making it rad: in this case, an intergalactic* bee invasion, and the Earth what's gonna fight them off.

North and Hastings are joined by Anthony Clark on colors, so you can blame him for those terrifyingly iridescent bees.

The first installment of "Invasion" launched on Monday, with new pages each subsequent day.

*I have no proof that these bees are from another galaxy.
