Alex Kalognomos has worked in film, TV, and theater, and has held duties at both Arpa International Film Festival and Los Angeles Greek Film Festival. He received 2008 Backstage West honors for his performance in William Saroyan's Hello Out There. He co-produced and co-starred in the award-winning short film, "Spaceman on Earth" which premiered at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. Alex also appeared in the film "The Witch of Portobello" which was selected by its source author Paulo Coelho (The Alchemist) to premier in the 2009 Rome International Film Festival.

His last name Kalognomos is comprised of the Greek roots kalo (good) and gnomi (opinion or knowledge). His mother's maiden name is Gregorian, derived from Gregory the Illuminator, Apostle to Armenia. Gregorian literally means of Gregory or Gregory's children.
