TV Review: HBO’s ‘A Good Job: Stories of the Fdny,’ NatGeo’s ‘9/10: The Final Hours’

The annual parade of Sept. 11 anniversary specials has been such that networks have been forced to become increasingly creative to turn up fresh angles. Two airing in close proximity reflect this challenge, with “A Good Job: Stories of the Fdny,” representing a much more peripheral take, yet proving both deeply personal and affecting; and “9/10: The Final Hours” feeling like a considerable stretch — an interesting idea that’s simply too diffused to rein in. If there’s one to watch, it’s the former, produced by and featuring former firefighter-turned-actor Steve Buscemi.

To those unfamiliar with that part of Buscemi’s biography, he spent four years as a fireman, and shares an obvious rapport with those who serve. In candid, low-key interviews that vaguely resemble James Gandolfini’s “Alive Day Memories’ ” chats with Iraq war veterans, Buscemi elicits a wide range of anecdotes about everything from integrating the Spartan ranks of firefighters (first with African-Americans, »

Last night, CBS dropped the new ,official,synopsis/spoilers and promo/spoiler clip (below) for their upcoming "Person Of Interest" episode 19 of season 3. The episode is entitled, "Most Likely To," and it appears to be extremely intense as the crew races against the clock to escape getting blown to bits inside a bomb-laden building, and more! In the new,19th episode press release: Reese and Shaw will infiltrate their most dangerous location yet, a high school reunion. Press release number 2: Reese and Shaw are going to pose as alumni at a high school reunion in order to keep eyes on the latest Poi. In the meantime, Finch and Fusco will travel to Washington, D.C., to investigate the motivations behind Vigilance’s latest attack.
