His first professional performance was "The Woman Warrior", based on the novel by Maxine Hong Kingston and produced first by the Berkeley Repertory Theatre, then the Huntington Theatre in Boston, Mass., and finally the James Doolittle Theatre in Los Angeles.
His other stage roles include Laertes in Singapore Repertory Theatre's production of Hamlet, and a variety of shows for the East West Players, an Asian-American theatre group based in Los Angeles.
