So with Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game, you’ve got the Chiodo Bros. involved, you’ve got the classic Dickies song, and you’ve got the classic Klown mannerisms with the gameplay. So what more do you want? How about female Klowns?
With IllFonic’s panel at Pax East yesterday, Stephen Chiodo accidentally let loose news that female Klowns will be coming to the game (which X user Nyzechu caught on film). “That wasn’t on my list of things not to say,” Stephen joked before Edward Chiodo told attendees to refrain from telling anyone. “I think I’m gonna be cocooned,” said Stephen.
“You know what? You’ve gotta let the little things out of the bag. It’s not gonna ruin anything,” Charles Chiodo quipped. The panel did go on to say that they do have more klowns and more content for the game that they haven’t talked about.

You’d think it would be a given that any new project that serves as a follow-up to the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) would need to feature two very important elements: the klowns and the famous theme song by The Dickies… but the upcoming Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game is missing one of those elements, as The Dickies have confirmed that their theme song is not being used for the game.
The announcement was made on The Dickie’s Facebook page: Got some gnarly news to share, a true bummer: The Dickies’ Killer Klowns from Outer Space theme song won’t be in upcoming Killer Klowns Video Game. Yeah, makes ya feel a bit gutted. Like a total slap in the face after all the love and loyalty fans have given that song for 36 years. The band really appreciates that you’ve...

Thirty-five years down the line from the release of the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here), fans of the film have access to a whole lot of tie-in merchandise, have made their way through Killer Klowns-themed mazes at Halloween Horror Nights events, and have a video game to look forward to… but we still haven’t seen the sequel the film’s creators have been anxious to make for decades. Now, speaking with SFX magazine, Killer Klowns from Outer Space director Stephen Chiodo has revealed that he’s hoping to bring the sequel idea to life as an eight episode mini-series!

Director Stephen Chiodo hopes to revive Killer Klowns from Outer Space as an eight-part miniseries for streaming, continuing the story of the original characters and introducing new talent. The potential series would explore the clown planet and feature clown animals, expanding the universe and offering many more new possibilities. While no confirmation has been made, the success of other horror franchises transitioning to TV, such as Scream and Chucky, suggests that a streaming series could be a viable option for Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space could potentially be revived as an eight-part streaming series, according to director Stephen Chiodo. First released back in 1988, the horror-comedy centered around a group of extraterrestrial beings that resembled clowns and came to Earth to harvest humans for their blood. While many films of this ilk received sequels back in the 1980s, Killer Klowns from Outer Space remains a standalone picture,...

There could soon be a new TV series that continues the story of Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space has long had a cult following in the horror community. Even so, it's one of those rare genre films to have never been given an official sequel. The Chiodo brothers, who created the film together, have been trying to get a sequel made for decades without much luck. Speaking about the possibility in a new interview with SFX Magazine (per GamesRadar), Stephen Chiodo, who directed the original film, said that he's now trying to get an eight-episode series greenlit for a streaming service rather than trying to get another feature film developed.

Universal made history throughout the 1930s and 1940s, bringing to life some of the greatest monsters of all time. In 1931, Dracula was considered one of the scariest films ever made. This may come as a big surprise, being that Dracula plays more like a drama than a horror movie today. The time that would later be known as the Golden Age of Hollywood emerged alongside the Great Depression, and boomed with the birth of sound films. According to Film Making Lifestyle, historians categorize Hollywood's Golden Age between the years of 1930 through 1989. Although broad, this time frame checks all the boxes as far as great cinema is concerned. Films like The Wizard of Oz, Citizen Kane, and Jaws are just a few honorable mentions that help flaunt the era's mindful masterpieces.

As the blog post states, the Chiodo Brothers have for the past 40 years applied their special chemistry and talent to bring fantastic characters to life. “We can’t define what the Chiodo Brothers mix is,” explains Edward Chiodo. “That balance of horror comedy and sci-fi. I can’t define it but it’s just something we do naturally.”
Obviously, this leads into the upcoming Killer Klowns From Outer Space game from Terravision, with which the Chiodo Brothers are heavily involved. And according to the devs, the game aims to reflect that balance of horror comedy and...

Back in 1988, the Chiodo Brothers brought us the cult classic horror comedy Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) – and pretty much ever since, they have been hoping to get the chance to make a sequel to the film. There’s still no word on a Killer Klowns 2, but sometime in 2023 there will be a Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game released for PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One… and during a conversation with ComicBook.com, the Chiodos revealed that some of the ideas they had for a sequel have been worked into the game.
Edward Chiodo told the site, “The game is being developed by Teravision with us acting as executive producers and creative advisers. One of our main focus points was making sure that the game captures the right look and unique spirit that the film had which fans feel so emotionally connected to. We...

While we continue waiting for a new movie, Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game is headed our way next year, an asymmetrical multiplayer game coming from Terravision Games and Good Shepherd Entertainment for consoles and PC. The game will allow you to step inside the 1988 cult classic, and the Chiodo Bros. are on board as producers/advisers.
The brothers have been patiently waiting for decades now to dive back into the world of Killer Klowns, and the game gives them a unique opportunity to expand upon the mythology. Chatting with ComicBook.com, the Chiodo Bros. tease what that means for longtime fans.
“However, we have also unlocked our treasure chest and shared our notebooks of ideas that we have been working on for 35 years with the team,” Edward Chiodo explains. “We gave them insight into the origins of the Klown race and tease at the possibility they’ve been visiting...

A couple months ago, it was announced that a video game based on the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) will be released for PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One sometime in 2023. A trailer for the game can be seen in the embed above, and now the folks at IGN have shared a video that shows how closely the video game resembles the movie it’s based on. That video can be viewed at the bottom of this article.
When the announcement was made, it was said that the video game maps would be “inventive, but faithful recreations of iconic locations from the Killer Klowns from Outer Space movie.” The video below does a great job of showing just how faithful these location recreations are.
The Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game is a multiplayer, asymmetrical (3 vs 7) horror game that pits three Klowns against seven Humans.

“In space, no one can hear you scream.” That tagline isn’t amazing just because it’s attached to Alien, one of the greatest movies of all time. It also captures the inherent horror of space: the vast emptiness, the utter solitude, the complete helplessness. It’s no wonder that horror has been a part of space stories since the beginning, as seen in not only the Alien franchise, but also forerunners such as It! The Terror From Beyond Space and Planet of the Vampires.
With that in mind, it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that several horror franchises have sought to shake things up by sending their monsters to space. Yes, it might initially sound odd to launch a gothic castle dweller like Count Dracula or the campground-bound Jason Voorhees through the stars, but the premise allows moviemakers to enhance the threat posed by their monsters...

Fall is upon us, and that brings the changing of the leaves, apple cider, and of course, scary movies. Seeing scary movies when you’re a little kid is the best. It's a balmy summer evening, the stars are out, and something strange just dropped out of the sky and landed in the woods near your hometown. What should you do? Warn the sheriff, knowing he never really listens to punk kids like you anyway? Investigate and poke it with a stick? Or ignore it and carry on making out in the back of your Convertible?
All the above answers are viable and correct if you're a stock character in a B movie horror involving hostile visitors from outer space, who like parking up on the edge of a small town where the hicks are too dumb to realize what is going on until it's almost too late. The premise was a staple of the atomic-era science fiction of the 1950s, and many directors who grew up with fond memories of those movies made their own versions in the 1980s.

Horror is one of those genres that is pretty much a surefire hit in any medium of entertainment. We’re living in unprecedented times with horror movies topping the box office and horror television series dominating streaming, and we’re also entering another golden age of horror video games. That last one is super exciting because a genre that was once known mostly for survival horror experiences like Resident Evil and Silent Hill is now a cornucopia for all types of experiences to get your spooky fix.
With recent homerun releases such as The Quarry and Evil Dead: The Game, there is no shortage of experiences still on the way for horror lovers to anticipate.
Here’s a look at some of the coolest horror games to keep on your radar.

Why do horror movies still feel undervalued? One thing’s for certain: In this age of geekery and craft reigning supreme, critics and academics no longer dismiss the genre as disreputable with the kneejerk regularity some once did. But even now there’s talk of “elevated horror” (see that concept’s lambasting in “Scream 5″) appearing in artier explorations of dread and terror — Ari Aster’s “Midsommar,” Luca Guadagnino’s “Suspiria,” Rose Glass’ “Saint Maud” — that are clearly distinguished from, well, non-elevated horror. The idea being that they engage your brain more than just showing brains…eaten by zombies or splattered against the wall.

It’s still unbelievable that Killer Klowns From Outer Space is being made into a video game, which is due out next year. And for those of you craving more information about the game, the official site for Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game has been busy with dropping tidbits about the title, most recently answering the question of just how we got here in the first place with The Chiodo Brothers themselves.
Entitled “How Does A Film Become A Game?”, the update involves the game’s designer, Randy Greenback (of Friday the 13th: The Game fame) sitting down with the “Og’s of the Klown universe”, The Chiodo Brothers, to discuss not only the game, but also a bit of history on Killer Klowns From Outer Space.

Grab your popcorn gun and balloon poodle because cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space is becoming a video game.
Next year, the Killer Klowns video game will come to PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One. Gamers can either play as one of the klowns hunting down townspeople or a Crescent Cove citizen fending off the circus freaks.
The Klowns featured are Jumbo, Shorty, Chubby, Spikey, and Rudy. The human characters are lumped into more generic characters of Teen, Biker, Cop, Punk, and Redneck. So no, you won’t be able to play this video game as Mike, Debbie or John Vernon. Weapons include various cotton candy guns. Here’s hoping we at least get to see Shorty knock a biker’s block off.

While there’s still no indication that we’re going to be getting a Killer Klowns from Outer Space 2 any time soon, it sure seems like the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) is more popular than ever now. Spirit Halloween stores are filling their shelves with Killer Klowns merchandise, Mego is releasing an 8″ version of the clown Jumbo, Waxwork Records has released the score on vinyl, and there’s going to be a Killer Klowns from Outer Space haunted house at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights this year. Speaking of, Universal Studios has put together a Killer Klowns short film to promote the Halloween Horror Nights event, and you can check it out in the embed above!
The short is cool, but hopefully it’s not the closest we’ll ever come to getting a sequel.

“Marcel the Shell with Shoes On,” the micro-budgeted, partially animated indie starring Jenny Slate as the voice of an andromorphic shell (with shoes on), is a mega-watt charmer that has also become one of the summer’s sleeper hits. Now in over 800 theaters, it feels like a balm for these troubled times – it is gloriously cute but not totally sanded down.
The plot of the movie, as much as there is one, concerns Marcel (Slate) and his attempt to reunite with his family, who were hastily whisked away after hiding in a sock drawer. Marcel forms a connection with a documentary filmmaker who is renting the house and that’s … pretty much it. From this simple premise, one of the year’s most beautiful (and most unexpectedly moving) features emerges.

In her first year CalArts stop motion short Somebody Take The Wheel, Animator Kenzie Sutton takes the mundane regularity of day to day life and manifests it through the distinct visualisation of a literal cycle, the form of a large wheel which keeps on turning. Sutton juxtaposes this wheel with a series of vignettes that focus on the individuals who live upon it. For instance, we witness people getting out of bed in the morning and going to work regular jobs. The combination of these scenes with the wider shots of the wheel cleverly highlight the strange absurdity that comes with everyday living and the film’s stop motion animation style further compliments this, giving the representation of human existence a tactile, toy-like sensibility. Dn sat down with Sutton as Somebody Take The Wheel begins its festival, including a screening today at Palm Springs ShortFest to learn more about how...

There have been rumours floating around for years regarding a planned sequel to the Chiodo brothers' classic horror comedy Killer Klowns from Outer Space first released in 1988. There were talks of a 2012 release and even a TV series based on the Klowns but it soon became apparent that this wasn't going to happen and many gave up on the idea all together.
However, hope seemed to be restored in 2018 when it was announced that Syfy was gearing up to licence the rights to make new feature films based on Killer Klowns from Outer Space and fellow 80's cult horror comedy Stephen Herek's Critters (1986).
Since then, there has been a Critters reboot entitled Critters Attack! which was unleashed onto the public in 2019 to mixed reviews, but still no sign of the long awaited Killer Klowns sequel. Recently, Stephen Chiodo was featured on the Slasher Radio podcast and spoke about what has happened to these plans.

Coulrophobics beware, because Killer Klowns from Outer Space 2 might be coming to Netflix.
The 1988 movie will be well known to VHS fans of a certain era and is about an attack on Earth by evil aliens who look like circus clowns and intend to farm humans for food. Upon its original release, it was well received and has gone on to become a low key horror classic.
Ever since its debut, there’ve been rumblings of a sequel, with the directors just waiting for the green light to go ahead. Back in 2018, there were signs that Syfy had picked up the property for a new project, but nothing ever came of it. Now, Stephen Chiodo has given an interview and revealed that they’re in talks with Netflix about a follow-up.

Fans of ‘80s comedy horror Killer Klowns From Outer Space have been periodically demanding a follow-up for decades, and now talks have taken place at Netflix to bring this about.
The film sees a band of murderous aliens with the appearances of hideous clowns descend upon a small town with the intention of culling its populace for food, and while on paper this may not seem like the most distinctive of premises, the movie has remained a perennial favorite due to its visual imagination.
And with Netflix’s release of animated seasonal short Alien Xmas, helmed by Killer Klowns director Stephen Chiodo and based on a book by he and his brothers, the filmmakers now have an in with the streaming service, which has apparently resulted in active talks about getting a sequel greenlit.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space 2 has at least been discussed with Netflix. This, according to director Stephen Chiodo, who helmed the original sci-fi/horror classic. Whether or not anything comes from those discussions remains to be seen. But Chiodo is encouraging fans to make noise if they want to see it happen.
Stephen Chiodo is set to return with a new Christmas special Alien Xmas. As it just so happens, the stop-motion special is heading to Netflix. That, it would seem, opened the door for them to discuss Killer Klowns from Outer Space 2. Here's what Chiodo had to say about it in a recent interview.
"We are talking to them. We're talking all the time. Get this: we've been trying to do a sequel since we made the film and fans get angry with us. We don't mention it too much, because they get angry. They say, 'Oh, what's the matter with you guys?...

1988’s Killer Klowns from Outer Space is a cult favorite for its bizarre premise, ghoulish kills, and special effects from the Chiodo brothers. A sequel has been on the cards for many years, with SyFy apparently having an interest in producing a follow-up to the original film, and director Stephen Chiodo has now commented on the likelihood of us getting a new Killer Klowns feature, emphasizing how fan support will be crucial to anything happening.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, Chiodo had this to say about how a support campaign would help Killer Klowns 2 to become a reality:
“Look, MGM controls Killer Klowns. If [fans] write MGM and say, ‘Where’s our sequel? Where’s that property?’ There’s so many ways they can exploit this thing. It’s really the fan base. The fan base has to be more vocal to MGM more than us, because they control it. But I’m just so happy.
