As a child, Kristin auditioned for a role as an orphan in the 1982 film version of the Broadway musical "Annie". She did not get the role, primarily because her New Yorker accent (an imitation of Barbra Streisand
) sounded too phony. But Kristin later played the dimwitted villain Lily St. Regis in a 1999 made-for-TV movie of the musical.
