Zach Galifianakis to Join Owen Wilson in Heist Comedy

4 December 2013 7:30 AM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Hangover star Zach Galifianakis is set to join Owen Wilson in an untitled new heist comedy that was previously called Loomis Fargo. Jim Carrey was supposed to star in the film, but it looks like Galifianakis will be taking his place. I'm sure he'll be great in the role.

The movie is is being directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) from a script written by Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer. That script is based on an original screenplay by Emily Spivey (Up All Night).

The film is based on the book Heist!: The $17 Million Loomis Fargo Theft, by Jeff Diamant. It tells the true story of four Southerners who stole $17 million from an armed Loomis Fargo truck in 1997. Galifianakis will play a disgruntled armored car driver who teams up with a pretty co-worker and a group of inexperienced criminals to steal the money. Via: The Wrap

Owen Wilson Joins Jim Carrey in Loomis Fargo

Owen Wilson is set to co-star alongside Jim Carrey in the new Jared Hess film project, Loomis Fargo. Hess is the director that brought us Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre, and Gentlemen Broncos

The film will tell the true story of four Southerners who stole $17 million from an armed Loomis Fargo truck in 1997. It's based on the book, Heist!: The $17 Million Loomis Fargo Theft, by Jeff Diamant.

Wilson's new movie, The Internship, is currently out in theaters, and I think Carrey's career is going to blow up again after Kick-Ass 2 is released.

Loomis Fargo sounds like it will make for a great film, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Here's a breakdown of the story from the book:

Jim Carrey to Star in Jared Hess Directed Heist Film Loomis Fargo

31 January 2013 9:27 PM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

I'm looking forward to seeing Jim Carrey in Kick-Ass 2 and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. I hope it's the start of more good films to come from him in the future. He's currently in discussions to star in an interesting sounding heist movie called Loomis Fargo.

The movie is set to be directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite), and will tell the true story of four Southerners who stole $17 million from an armed Loomis Fargo truck in 1997. It's based on the book, Heist!: The $17 Million Loomis Fargo Theft, by Jeff Diamant.

This sounds like it could be a really good movie. It's also a very different kind of film project for both Hess and Carrey, hopefully they are able to turn it into a great film. It definitely has potential. Here's a breakdown of the story from the book:
