Afm: Twilight Dad Engages in Some Shadow Play

6 November 2009 1:06 AM, PST | | See recent Dread Central news »

For my money Billy Burke as Bella's dad was the best thing in all of Twilight. Burke, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"'s Emma Caulfield, busty model/actress Kelly Brook (soon to be eaten alive in Piranha 3D), and film veteran Elliot Gould co-star in Shadow Play, a new thriller in the vein of Hitchcock and The Shining about a cleaning man whose sanity begins to unravel as he works to clean up a sprawling mansion.

Crazy Sexy Geeks: Celebrity Wonder Woman Debate!

5 November 2009 10:10 AM, PST | | See recent Comicmix news »

Super hero costumes are often criticized by fans and non-fans alike. In particular, the female costumes can sometimes seem a bit too revealing or impractical. Even Wonder Woman is occasionally given guff and there are those who say that if they ever made a new movie with her, her swimsuit-like battle armor would have to go.

So we of Crazy Sexy Geeks: The Series decided to ask people: Should Wonder Woman wear pants? Are the shorts or skirt too impractical?

Join us as we discuss and debate this issue with every day comic fans, professional artist Gene Ha (Top Ten, Global Frequency), fashion consultant Tim Gunn, actress Miracle Laurie (Dollhouse), actress/writer Emma Caulfield (Buffy the Vampire Slayer,, digital painter Alayna Lemmer, and the American Gladiators known as Phoenix and Venom. That's tons of pretty girls talking about the ultimate female super hero! What Are You Waiting For? »

Crazy Sexy Geeks: Tim Gunn and Horror Films!

29 October 2009 4:50 AM, PDT | | See recent Comicmix news »

It's Halloween time and that means I and co-host Graham Skipper are ready to debate the merits and drawing power of movie monsters such as Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, the Aliens and the Predators.

Last week, the Csg gang spoke with Tim Gunn about super-hero fashion and then attended the DC Comics/Bloomingdale's fashion show in NYC where they asked Batman and Catwoman how fashion techniques have influenced their costumes.

And if that isn't enough for you, all previous episodes of Crazy Sexy Geeks: The Series have been remastered with better audio quality! Enjoy!

Taylor Swift Support, Kanye Condemnations And The Chicago Bears In Today's Twitter-Wood

14 September 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Editor's note: There were apparently some technical difficulties last night, as Twitter-Wood never ran. So in lieu of today's Daily TwitPic, here's a special morning edition of Twitter-Wood for 9/14/09.

The Vma's trended nearly as well in the Twitter-Wood feed last night as they did on Twitter, and if you've had any internet access over the last 24 hours you probably know that a lot of that was provoked by Kanye West's unexpected interruption during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech. Elizabeth Banks, Kat Dennings, John Stamos and others contributed to the online conversation that followed, expressing their thoughts on his interjection.

Football was pretty popular last night as well, and if you didn't know that Ashton Kutcher was a Bears fan, you do now, thanks to Demi Moore's photo tweet of her defeated fan-husband after the Green Bay Packers stuck it to Chicago in the fourth quarter. Check out all of those posts, »

Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Emma Caulfield has launched her own cat-themed web comic, Contropussy. Caulfield, who played the sometime vengeance demon Anya on Joss Whedon’s hit television show, is producing the comic along with Camilla Rantsen, Christian Meesey and Thomas Mauer. "I'm hoping people like you will respond to Contropussy the way I think you will," said Caulfield to a fan during a question and answer session at Chicago Comic-Con. "It's not over the head. Review: ‘TiMER’

24 July 2009 3:38 PM, PDT | | See recent news »

I will start this review off by saying something I have already stated many times on this site. ‘TiMER’ was one of my favorite films at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival and it better get a nice wide release very soon. Since it’s premiere in April, ‘TiMER’ has been wowing audiences at some other film festivals and even picked up the award for Best Film at the Connecticut Film Festival. An honor it definitely deserved.

In ‘TiMER’, Oona O’Leary (Emma Caulfield) is waiting to meet her true love. The problem is that her biological clock is ticking, even if her TiMER isn’t. A TiMER is a device implanted in your wrist, which counts down to the exact day you will meet your one and only. Oona’s is blank, which means the love of her life doesn’t have one. So Oona only dates TiMER-less guys in »

Emma Caulfield, who played the she-demon Anya on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, during a Wpix interview about her new sci-fi/romance film TiMER (which premiered at the TriBeCa FIlm Festival Sunday night), reveals that a Buffy reunion film is an idea that has been "circling" among her former Buffy castmates and Joss Whedon.

Thinky Sci-Fi

14 April 2009 1:47 PM, PDT | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

We haven't had a lot of brainy science fiction at the movies recently. Most science fiction has moved away from the philosophizing headspace to the easy accessibility and fun of the space opera / adventure variety, the Star Wars school if you will. There have been a few attempts to bring it back: Steven Soderbergh's Solaris remake, Danny Boyle's Sunshine (to some degree) and indies like Primer. People don't tend to think of it as sci-fi but Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind also fits into this camp: movies using outlandish and/or futuristic scientific premises to illuminate something about the human condition or tie us up in theoretical knots.

One of the reasons I loved Battlestar Galactica so much during its run (2004-20009... sniffle) is that it lived in an enormous suite in the headier wing of the genre mansion but also kept a couple of rooms in the other, »

Tribeca Film Fest unveils partial lineup

9 March 2009 8:43 PM, PDT | | See recent QuietEarth news »

I know it looks dire as it's 28% lighter (at least so far) and minus an artistic director, but no fear, there's still more to come, and with what's been announced theirs some interesting sounding stuff, especially a film we wrote about briefly called Accidents Happen. Also premiering is the comedy Stay Cool and the Danish film Original, along with the North American premier of The Exploding Girl which we also wrote about.

Check the narrative features, world documentary, and discovery lineups after the break!
