David Crow Dec 7, 2017

Following Logan, James Mangold is co-writing and directing a movie about hostage-turned-revolutionary Patty Hearst.

Well it’s good to see that despite whatever ominous headlines are in the Hollywood trades these days, the folks at 20th Century Fox are not letting it stop them from developing some interesting sounding projects. Variety was the first to report the announcement that under the Fox 2000 label, James Mangold has signed on to direct an untitled Patty Hearst movie about an heiress hostage turned leftwing radical bank robber. Whether seen as a brainwashed victim or militant revolutionary, Hearst’s story continues to catch the imagination, including perhaps that of Elle Fanning who is circling the project with the aim to play Hearst.

The film adapts American Heiress, Jeffrey Toobin’s nonfiction and bestselling account of Hearst, who was a Berkeley undergraduate in her sophomore year when she was kidnapped by a

“They are old buildings,” former Gsa Inspector General Brian Miller explained to NBC Washington. “Any of us who have old houses know old houses need a lot of work.

Patty Hearst Turns from Heiress to Revolutionary and Then Back in New Archival Documentary
Newspaper heiress Patricia Hearst Shaw occasionally creeps into the headlines these days as a champion show dog trainer, a figure of enduring curiosity with a past string of minor roles as an actress on TV and in the kitschy films of director John Waters.

But for a heightened moment in the mid-1970s, Patty Hearst, as she was then known, was the central figure in a San Francisco Bay area kidnapping and crime spree that intersected with domestic terrorism during a chaotic moment in American politics and culture, producing iconic images of the era and landing her in prison for 22 months after she embraced,

Nick Carter Is 'Shocked and Saddened' by Sexual Assault Allegations Made by Dream's Melissa Schuman

Nick Carter Is 'Shocked and Saddened' by Sexual Assault Allegations Made by Dream's Melissa Schuman
Nick Carter is responding to claims made by Melissa Schuman that he sexually assaulted her over a decade ago.

"I am shocked and saddened by Ms. Schuman’s accusations. Melissa never expressed to me while we were together or at any time since that anything we did was not consensual," Carter said in a statement to Et. "We went on to record a song and perform together, and I was always respectful and supportive of Melissa both personally and professionally. This is the first that I am hearing about these accusations, nearly two decades later. It is contrary to my nature and everything I hold dear to intentionally cause someone discomfort or harm."

In the early 2000s, Schuman was part of the girl group Dream while Carter was, and still is, a member of the Backstreet Boys. On Tuesday, Schuman posted an essay on her private blog accusing the 37-year-old singer of raping her when she paid a

Nick Carter Accused of Sexual Assault by Dream's Melissa Schuman
Nick Carter has been accused of sexual assault.

In a post on her personal blog earlier this month, Melissa Schuman of the early 2000s girl group Dream claims that Carter raped her when she was 18 years old and he was 22.

In an emotional and graphic essay, Schuman says she was invited over to Carter's house during a day off from the movie they were co-starring in. She claims that after arriving at his apartment with a friend, they listened to the singer's new music before he allegedly brought her into the bathroom, where she claims they started kissing.

Schuman, who says she was a virgin at the time, claims Carter started unbuttoning her pants, disregarding her objections before allegedly performing oral sex on her. She claims he then demanded she perform oral sex on him, writing, "My thought was the only way to get out was to get him to finish what he had started."

Schuman writes
