Broken Matt Hardy gimmick “days away” from WWE? Huge Tna title change – WrestleTalk News

Tna Rebrand As Gfw

Many consider the initials ‘Tna’ to be a poison brand, synonymous with 15 years of bad decisions, sliding ratings and Dixie Carter clinging onto Hulk Hogan’s leg. In more colloquial terms, Tna also stands for Tits and Ass. So it’s long overdue that the promotion are changing their name from Tna to Impact Wrestling to Anthem Sports & Entertainment to Jeff Jarrett’s Mega Gold Giveaway to now, finally, Global Force Wrestling.

Just days after Impact Wrestling ‘officially acquired’ Jarrett’s Gfw promotion, Tna will rebrand itself as Global Force Wrestling. Their weekly show will still be called ‘Impact’, just like how WWE’s weekly show is called ‘Raw’. Jarrett spoke to The Tennessean about the name change:

“We’re a global brand. We have partnerships in Mexico, Japan, other places. Collectively coming together, »

When Satire Becomes Real

On this week’s Smackdown, Jinder Mahal revealed the stipulation for his third WWE Championship match against Randy Orton: the dreaded Punjabi Prison. ‘Dreaded’ because the matches in it are usually pretty rubbish.

While a Steel Cage stipulation only has one layer of entrapment, the Punjabi Prison surrounds its competitors with two – an inner cage of bamboo, with an octagonal structure topped with ‘razor-sharp bamboo spikes’. It’s so successful, there’s only been two Punjabi Prison matches in WWE history, and the stipulation hasn’t been used in over a decade.

But according to satirical wrestling website KayFabe News – who publish humorously fake articles – this has been the plan all along.

Reddit user GeePrimus has unearthed a 2012 article from the site entitled: ‘Jinder Mahal only hired so WWE can use »

WWE don’t want Broken Hardys gimmick? Tna Vs Matt & Jeff Hardy – WrestleTalk News

Oli Davis rounds up the biggest professional wrestling news in his daily WrestleTalk column…

Up until a few weeks ago, Braun Strowman was meant to be taking on Brock Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire – still an actual name for a pay-per-view – but plans had to be changed when he suddenly needed to undergo minor elbow surgery. The Monster Among Men has been keeping us up to date about his recovery on Instagram:

Strowman’s injury, however, is reportedly a work, with his return expected for July at the latest and his elbow not really being shattered. Maybe Matt & Jeff could be the Shattered Hardys!?

In a quick recap of their Expedition of Lawsuits so far, Matt Hardy developed his Broken Universe gimmick last year in Tna Impact Wrestling, back when Dixie Carter and Billy Corgan ran the promotion. When Anthem Sports and Entertainment bought the company, and rehired original »

Hawaii Five-0 Season 7 Episode 22 Review: Black Tears

15 April 2017 4:35 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

When it gets personal for McGarrett, watch out!

McGarrett turned up the heat when a survivor of the USS Arizona got killed by a band of bank robbers on Hawaii Five-0 Season 7 Episode 22.

This episode effectively showcased McGarrett's heart as he sought justice for the granddaughter of that survivor.

After all, Lexi got to have her grandfather for all his long life, while McGarrett never knew his grandfather and namesake, Steven, who was killed at Pearl Harbor.

Still, he obviously bonded with her.

It saddened me to see an award-winning actor, Hal Holbrook, gone after one live scene (and a second on video). I fondly remember him and wife Dixie Carter on Designing Women, and he was great as a feisty senior on NCIS: Los Angeles Season 8 Episode 16.

But there wouldn't have been a case that resonated so much with McGarrett without that happening, so I get it.

WWE Teases "Broken" Fans On Their Twitter

27 March 2017 12:23 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

The WWE is ramping up promotion for their biggest show of the year, Wrestlemania. With that, they are using all the tools they have at their disposal to get the word out. One avenue has been Twitter, where the company has tweeted numerous Wrestlemania moments from the past 32 shows.

One tweet in particular has gotten the attention of fans. Showing a clip of Matt Hardy facing off against Jeff Hardy at Wrestlemania 25, the WWE had this to say.

Matt and Jeff Hardy are currently the Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions after spending years in Impact Wrestling. During the last year of Dixie Carter's ownership of the company, the only major story that intrigued viewers was the character of "Broken" Matt Hardy and his battles with his brother Jeff, who he called Brother Nero. The duo had a fascinating match called The Final Deletion which is nothing like any »

Matt Hardy reveals WWE return talks, Tna first New Era episode…

10 March 2017 10:41 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Last night was the first episode of Tna Impact Wrestling under the new regime of Jeff Jarrett, Dutch Mantell and Scott D’Amore. They promoted the episode on Twitter, posting:

Tonight we celebrate our past, embrace the present and look towards the future. This is Impact Wrestling #MakeImpactGreat Tonight 8/7c pic.twitter.com/sKRypqghsD

— Impact Wrestling (@Impactwrestling) March 9, 2017

Not celebrate the last three years, though, as both Mantell and Bruce Prichard buried former Tna owner Dixie Carter’s regime during in-ring promos on the show. Considering how far Tna fell in 2016, though – with the promotion coming very close to closing multiple times – it’s probably a good thing to sweep that under the ring apron, now the company appears to be under far more stable management in 2017.

This didn’t go down too well with a few of the wrestlers backstage, though – the exact ones who wrestled for the company in those buried ‘tough’ years. »

Matt & Jeff Hardy leave Tna Impact Wrestling! Are they going to WWE?

28 February 2017 3:11 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

This one’s a long one, people. There’s a lot of conflicting reports and broken backstage promises. So get comfy. This is the story of how The Hardy Boys left Tna…

This week was make or Delete for The Hardys and Tna Impact Wrestling. Both Matt and Jeff Hardy’s contracts were up by the end of February, and Tna are scheduled for their next batch of TV tapings from Thursday 2nd March through to Sunday. The Broken One said as much himself, tweeting yesterday:

It shall be an Intriguing week for the professional wrestling industry. pic.twitter.com/8pDkzwJu3y

— #Broken Matt Hardy (@Matthardybrand) February 27, 2017

With the usual image of him looking completely bonkers.

Contract negotiations between the Hardys and Tna have been going on for months, with Pro Wrestling Sheet reporting the two sides actually agreed to terms on a new one-year deal back in December, bar a few minor changes. »

Aj Styles & Jeff Jarrett shoot on Tna & Dixie Carter, ex-tna champion returning?

20 February 2017 8:56 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Tna, or Impact Wrestling…or Anthem Giant Bird and Entertainment – whatever name it currently goes by – didn’t have the best 2016. It nearly went under several times, and, at one point, their biggest show of the year Bound For Glory almost didn’t happen due to lack of funds.

Following the messy legal battle between former Tna President Billy Corgan and the company’s then-owner Dixie Carter, things appear to be looking up for the promotion. Tna’s original founder Jeff Jarrett has been brought back to run the company as Executive Producer, and he recently spoke to Newsweek about last year’s annus horribilis.

Look at me using Latin words, like I’m Triple H or something.

“It was a black-eye on the industry. It wasn’t fruitful for anyone—whether you’re a fan of, a wrestler, an employee. It was a really ugly, unfortunate situation. It wasn’t good for the industry. »

Nxt Takeover: San Antonio Predictions

28 January 2017 1:49 PM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Nxt Takeover: San Antonio is live tonight on the WWE Network. Takeover, for the casual fan that may not know, is the quarterly event that the Nxt brand holds. It’s their pay per view level event. Some of the best matches the WWE put on last year were at Takeover events, such as Shinsuke Nakamura vs Sami Zayn at Takeover: Dallas and The Revival vs #Diy at Takeover: Toronto. The level of talent at Nxt meets and in some cases exceeds the talent on the main roster so if you’re a fan of good, entertaining matches, this show will be a can’t miss show. Presented for your approval is a preview of the show and my predictions for who comes out victorious.

Roderick Strong vs Cien Andrade Almas

Fans of Ring of Honor will be the first to tell you that Roderick Strong is an amazing talent in the ring. »

Ryback shoots on Vince McMahon, ex-wwe champion in talks with Tna…

5 January 2017 10:00 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Last year saw a lot of notable releases from WWE. Damien Sandow, Cody Rhodes, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett – but lift after Vince McMahon isn’t all just Impact Zone debuts and beating up Ninja Turtles. There’s always the self-help business.

Ryback has announced on his Instagram page that his self-help book Wake Up! It’s Feeding Time has been published ahead of schedule. Probably best he went with those catchphrases, rather than the ‘I’m Dumb As F***’ one Cm Punk made famous.

This comes the same week as Ryback’s latest shoot story about his time in WWE, on his podcast Conversation with the Big Guy:

“[Vince McMahon] sees me, this was before my third surgery, he comes up to me and we had a nice little lengthy discussion…’I’m going to allow you to make me a lot of money and I’m never going to give up on you, »
