Austin Aries Signs New Contract With Tna

20 May 2012 8:38 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Current Tna X Division champion Austin Aries has announced on his Twitter account that he has re-signed with the company.

Aries returned to Tna last year as part of an X Division angle and has remained a staple of the division ever since. Most recently the charismatic anti-hero has been feuding with mega heel Bully Ray and the two put on one of the best matches of 2012 at the recent Sacrifice PPV.

Tna President Dixie Carter has also stated that she is “very proud to have re-signed (Aries), and is very proud of him”.

Where Aries goes from here is anybody’s guess. He has proved very popular amongst the Tna Impact Wrestling fan base and has excelled himself as both a heel and a babyface. In a company where smaller athletes have been known to receive main event pushes (Aj Styles, Christian Cage) could there be more titles in Aries future? »

Annie Potts is 'hostess with the mostest' on new comedy 'Gcb' [Video]

29 April 2012 3:46 PM, PDT | Gold Derby | See recent Gold Derby news »

Gigi Stopper is the fiesty, opinionated, widowed Texas dame who enjoys a stiff drink as much as she loves church. Annie Potts, who portrays Gigi on the freshman ABC dramedy "Gcb," calls her "the hostess with the mostest ...belle of the ball ... Auntie Mame." Potts has been a steady presence on television for the past quarter century with regular series roles on "Love and War" (Emmy nod in 1994), "Dangerous Minds," "Any Day Now" (SAG bids in 1999 and 2000), and most famously "Designing Women." She co-starred with Dixie Carter on that long-running CBS comedy and is now using some of her late friend's traits on "Gcb." In a video chat with senior editors Rob Licuria and Chris Beachum, Potts said, "Because I knew her so well, this is very much in character for her. She threw fabulous parties, and she had that kind of ebullience that I've tried to capture and use for Gigi. »

Tna Impact! Wrestling – March 22nd Review

26 March 2012 2:07 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

This week, we had to get the fallout from Bobby Roode threatening the health of Dixie Carter after beating Sting at Victory Road. If only she’d used the ample time she had to get out of the ring to her advantage. And so Dixie joined us to open the show. Dixie made out like she was going to fire the champ, but Sting came out and claimed firing him was letting him off easy. Sting then said that his position as leader was just not working. So he said hes coming back as a wrestler to fight for Dixie and step down as General Manager. He did however promise that he had someone to take the company right to the top. Sting asked Dixie to let him give him the power to the Real Hulk Hogan. Dixie did her best to act conflicted. Later on in the show, in the main event slot, »

Tna Impact Victory Road Review – Sting vs Bobby Roode

19 March 2012 1:12 PM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Tna have gone off the Twitter deep end. Last night’s Victory Road event was a near 3-hour advert for Social Networking. The usual trending topics flashed up on screen, but it didn’t end there. We had a Victory Road hash tag banner, Tweets displayed on the screen backstage that Jeremy Borash asked questions from, a tweet during a competitive match (by Austin Aries) and to top it all off, the commentators did Not Stop talking about it all night. They completely ignored the flow of the match and the calling of moves to instead read out generic tweets from @Velvetskysknockers or whomever they could find that had something positive to say about their show. I shouldn’t be mentioning Twitter first Ever in a wrestling review, but it really was That overpowering. It was enough to make me want to mute my TV, and I haven’t done »

'Gcb' star Annie Potts blasts Newt Gingrich for hypocrisy

During a visit to The View today, actress Annie Potts star slammed Newt Gingrich, who earlier called her new show, Gcb, an example of the entertainment industry’s “anti-Christian bigotry.” Potts began tamely, musing, “I don’t know what all the fuss is about.” But it took very little prodding from co-hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg to get her going.

“I did feel that it was especially rich coming from him,” said Potts, “that he called our little TV show un-Christian when he was carrying on an affair while he was impeaching the president for doing the same. It’s like, »

Recap: Nicollette Sheridan Accused of Tardiness

9 March 2012 3:04 PM, PST | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Nicollette Sheridan's wrongful termination trial wrapped up the week with Desperate Housewives executive producer George Perkins testifying that Sheridan was late for work about "50 percent of the time."

Perkins also said on the witness stand Friday that he had to have discussions with the 48-year-old star "multiple times" each season about not adequately knowing her lines, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Regarding her tardiness, Perkins suggested Sheridan was acting out purposefully. "She would often tell me her call time was too early. She didn't think we needed her as early as she was being called," the producer was quoted as saying.

We Know Who Dies on Sunday's 'Housewives'!

Under questioning by Sheridan's attorney, Perkins admitted that no specific records were kept of when she arrived on set and that he was basing his claims on his own memory.

Sheridan's character Edie was killed off the hit ABC show in the fifth season and attorneys for the »

AfterElton's Top 50 Favorite TV Characters

27 February 2012 5:53 AM, PST | AfterElton.com | See recent AfterElton.com news »

The results are in! We asked readers to name their favorite TV characters of all time and thousands responded. This year, for the first time, we weren't just asking about favorite gay TV characters. Folks could vote for characters of either gender - and all persuasions. Of course, this being AfterElton we expected gay characters to figure prominently on this list - and they do - but it is interesting to see what female and straight TV roles also resonated with the AfterElton readership.

Before we get to the actual rankings, here are a few statistics.

First, the top fifty came from a broad range of TV shows. Thirty programs were represented, and the two that made the best showing (Glee and Modern Family) placed only four characters each in the rankings.

Second, female characters nabbed 15 of the top 50 spots, or 30%.

Third, obviously a poll like this favors characters from »

'Gcb' Exclusive Look: The New Primetime B*tches

24 January 2012 7:29 AM, PST | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

ABC's new "Desperate Housewives"-esque dramedy has gone through a few good names: "Good Christian Bitches" was toned down a bit to "Good Christian Belles" and now it's the short, sweet and easily hashtag-able "Gcb." But that doesn't make it any less over-the-top ... it is set in Texas, after all.

We've got an exclusive sneak peek at the show (premiering Sunday, March 4 at 10 p.m. Est on ABC) to introduce you to reformed mean girl Amanda Vaughn (Leslie Bibb) and her one-time targets who are now ready for revenge (including Kristin Chenoweth, Miriam Shor, Jennifer Aspen and Marisol Nichols). We also get to meet Amanda's larger-than-life mother, Gigi, played by the inimitable Annie Potts.

I spoke with the cast about the new show (fun video interviews coming soon), and Potts got more than a little choked up talking about her inspiration for playing Gigi: Her late, great "Designing Women" co-star, »

Tna Impact Wrestling Review 12/1/12 – Jeff Hardy vs. Robert Roode

15 January 2012 12:26 AM, PST | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Tna Impact Wrestling!

12/1/11

Bobby Roode is still your Tna Champion after Genesis, and he’s gracing us with his presence. As the fans chant “Hardy,” Roode tells us he’s the most dominant champion in the history of Impact! Roode says he’s not going to embarrass him anymore, and brings him out to “humbly accept his defeat” and shake Roode’s hand. Instead it’s Sting’s music that plays and out comes the Icon. Sting and Roode share some weird caveman insults which somehow garners a “Spank his butt” chant from the crowd. Sting calls Roode out for getting intentionally disqualified and tells him tonight he defends again against Jeff Hardy! Sting is out, and Roode throws a tantrum.

Earlier today, Matt Morgan met Crimson coming out of Direct Insurance and they gave him a Great Deal. Morgan says they’ve been amazing with his family for years. »

Kristin Chenoweth and Leslie Bibb Talk About Playing Texan Women on Gcb

10 January 2012 2:36 PM, PST | BuzzSugar | See recent BuzzSugar news »

New ABC series Gcb stars Leslie Bibb as a woman who returns to her hometown of Dallas, TX, after her husband dies amid a scandal. Once she arrives, the women of her community, headed up by Kristin Chenoweth, don't exactly welcome her with open arms. These women are affectionately known as "good Christian b*tches," which was the original title of the show before it was changed to the current abbreviation. The show's creator Robert Harling came to the Winter TCA with the stars to address the title change as well as how much the female characters will be portrayed as good, Christian, or b*tches. Harling addressed the title changes the series has already been through. Based on a book, the original title was Good Christian B*tches, which briefly became Good Christian Belles. Harling, who is from Texas, said that "belles" wasn't really appropriate for Texas, which is »
