Starred in her first one-woman show, "Gertrude Stein, Gertrude Stein, Gertrude Stein", which ran for eighteen months in New York and four years on the road. The production garnered a Grammy Award for the Caedmon recording, The Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Production, a Drama Desk Award for Best Actress as well.
