Surveying a TNT landscape that in recent weeks saw Dallas and other dramas fall by the wayside, Major Crimes creator James Duff does not take for granted the fact that The Closer‘s spin-off thus far has reaped relatively easy renewals.
“We’ve been incredibly lucky,” Duff told TVLine during a Q&A previewing the crime drama’s upcoming winter run. “Believe me when I say that we are all very aware of the rarified air in which we exist at the moment” – especially with former Fox boss Kevin Reilly about to take the reins at the cable network.
This Monday at 9/8c, TNT’s Major Crimes serves up a finale so dense with drama, it just might give you a heart attack. (Sorry, Fritz.Too soon?) For as the McD’s investigation into the disappearances of a string of young girls leads to a turf battle with the S.O.B., Rusty’s mom pops back up like a bad penny, still struggling with the law and her sobriety.

I’m loving the Hook/Swan thing on Once Upon a Time, but something is bothering me: How long will Emma put up with his choice of clothing? Come on, they’re not in Ftl anymore and no one else is dressed as such. A shower and some nice clothes just might move Emma in the right direction. »

A study by the Annenberg Public Policy Center found that people who watched The Colbert Report were better informed on campaign finance issues than people who got their news through traditional news sources. Remember this the next time someone laments that people say they get their news from comedy shows.
A&E found another reason for its adaptation of Les Revenants to grab your attention. Kevin Alejandro has joined the cast as the town sheriff.
I hope this turns out to be a better role than Brother Blood.
TBS has ordered a third season of King of the Nerds, according to The Hollywood Reporter. I’m thrilled, King of the Nerds has the best challenges on TV, there should be a spin-off that just reuses old challenges, like the one where competitors fly on brooms trying to land golden snitches into cauldrons.
