Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, Fran Carlon was one of radio's busiest actresses. She is best known for playing Lorelei Kilbourne on radio's Big Town series, but was also frequently featured on such radio programs as: Mary Noble, Backstage Wife; Lora Lawton; Ma Perkins; The Chicago Theater of the Air; and Mr. Kenn, Tracer of Lost Persons, to name just a few.

Portrayed Lorelei Kilbourne, society editor of The Illustrated Press, on CBS (and from 1948 to 1951 on NBC) Radio's "Big Town" (1943-1952).
