In March 2004 caused some controversy when he made a speech urging Islamic scholars in the UK to be more vocal in their condemnation of acts of terrorism like 9/11. His successor as Archbishop of Canterbury, 'Dr Rowan Williams', said he agreed with Carey's words. See more »
