VH1 is expanding its scripted portfolio with Hindsight, handing out a 10-episode series pickup to the hourlong scripted drama pilot from writer Emily Fox (Jane By Design) and Timberman-Beverly for a premiere in early 2015. Now it is her first scripted series pickup and a followup to the network’s first hourlong scripted series, the Queen Latifah-produced Single Ladies, and summer breakout Hit the Floor. The network most recently had scripted success with the highly rated TLC biopic and just greenlighted a Drumline sequel with Nick Cannon. Fox‘s Night of Comedy showcase at the Improv last fall featured then-19-year-old comedian Pete Davidson. The network brass loved him and quickly signed him to a talent holding deal. After a small guest-starring role on Fox’s freshman comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which marked his first TV acting gig, Davidson got his first network test for Fox’s comedy pilot Sober Companion and landed the role on the spot, with Fox casting executives bullish on his breakout potential. A native of Staten Island, NY, Davidson started his career in comedy at a young age, using it as a therapeutic outlet after losing his father, a New York City firefighter, on 9/11. Making his rounds in the New York comedy scene, he was spotted by Nick Cannon who took him under his wing. Davidson was a semi-regular on the revival of Nick Cannon Presents: Wild ‘N Out improv comedy series on MTV2 last year, »

One of the hottest shows in daytime is the Disney-distributed syndicated talkshow “Live With Kelly & Michael,” which this month delivered the show’s top rating in its nearly 18 months on the air.
Getting a boost from co-host Michael Strahan’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame over Super Bowl weekend, “Live” drew a season-best 3.6 household rating for the week of Feb. 3-7, according to Nielsen, marking the show’s third consecutive week of growth.
Not only does this represent a best-yet rating for “Live With Kelly & Michael,” which launched in September 2012, but it’s also the second highest household rating in the last seven years for “Live.” The only higher tally for “Live” since February 2007 was a 6.7 (and 9.45 million total viewers) for Regis Philbin’s final week as host of “Live With Regis & Kelly” in December 2011.
In total viewers, “Live” also saw growth for a third straight week, »

The brothers Benny and Rafi Fine may be taking their online video talents to television. The fraternal pair known collectively online as The Fine Bros. have teamed up with Nick Cannon and his Ncredible Entertainment production company to produce a pilot for Nickelodeon. The program, dubbed ReactToThat, is based on the Fine’s incredibly popular React series, which is a fully-fledged YouTube franchise with multiple editions (including Kids React, Elders React, Teens React, and YouTubers React) that has tackled topics as inane as twerking and as important as gay marriage and garnered hundreds of millions of views in the process. Nickelodeon hasn’t yet made up its mind if it will greenlight the series, but regardless of the end result, the pilot order marks the latest example of online video talent getting a serious shot at transitioning to TV. Shane Dawson, for example, sold a workplace comedy to NBC in »

Poor Carey's waiting for her husband continues with a balloon-glitter bath.
A glass of champagne helps Carey wait.
Finally, Cannon shows up. He is considerably more informal than his candy-bedecked wife.
