Stx Entertainment has released a new trailer and photos from The Foreigner, the latest film from the ageless big screen icon Jackie Chan. This action-packed thrill ride is very much in the same vein as the action classic Taken, with Jackie Chan playing a father with a very "special set of skills" that he uses to go after a group of terrorists. This timely action thriller also stars Pierce Brosnan and comes from the director of Casino Royale.

13 September 2017 12:11 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Jackie Chan is the undisputed master of martial arts movies, especially those that call for the veteran actor and stunt performer to use his environment to his advantage in increasingly complex fight scenes. But there comes a point when even Chan--now 63--has to make things a little easier on himself. That time is now. As the final trailer for The Foreigner reveals, Chan has no fucks left to give. That's not to say he phones it in regarding the action department; quite the opposite, actually. Directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) and scripted by David Marconi from … »

Don't mess with Jackie Chan. Stx Entertainment has unveiled a new trailer, which is just one action scene, for the film The Foreigner, starring Jackie Chan in a serious role as a man who goes for revenge when the police do nothing. This scene was teased in the first trailer, but now we get to see it play out entirely as Chan is hunted by a group of mercenaries. This is Martin Campbell's latest film, director of GoldenEye, Casino Royale, Edge of Darkness; adapted from a book called "The Chinaman". He plays a father who tries to get revenge when his daughter is killed in an Ira bombing, leading him right up to the politicians. It also stars Pierce Brosnan, Charlie Murphy, Katie Leung, Simon Kunz, Rory Fleck Byrne, Stephen Hogan, Pippa Bennett-Warner, and Dermot Crowley. This looks so much better than Bleeding Steel. According to Deadline, Martin Campbell (GoldenEye, Casino Royale) has signed on to direct the upcoming adventure Treasure of Ali Baba & The 40 Thieves, based upon the classic One Thousand and One Nights tale.

The new film has been written by Dave Holstein from an original draft by Mansur Ahmed and Ehud Bleiberg, and its official logline reads: “An adventure novelist gets caught up in a global conspiracy and a hunt for a mysterious antiquity after discovering that his father had a map to the legendary treasure of Ali Baba. Thor: Ragnarok Director Learned What Not To Do From Green Lantern

9 September 2017 11:58 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Though Taika Waititi might be best known nowadays as the director who’s brought us excellent films like What We Do In the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople, not to mention that he’s also behind the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, it’s important to remember that he holds many acting credits as well. In fact, long before he jumped into the Marvel camp, he had a supporting role in 2011’s failed Green Lantern.

Yes, it’s true. Waititi showed up in the movie as Tom Kalmaku, and while the part may not have been very big, his time spent on the project proved to be an incredibly valuable learning experience. Speaking to Screen Rant during a recent set visit for Ragnarok, Waititi explained what he took away from Martin Campbell’s film, saying that being a part of the cast helped him realize what was wrong with comic book movies back then. »

Martin Campbell hasn't had much luck outside the James Bond franchise, having revitalized it twice with Goldeneye and Casino Royale (for my money the best James Bond movie ever). Because, besides The Mask Of Zorro, he hasn't had very many memorable outings, and even some famous clunkers like Green Lantern and the The Legend Of Zorro, which couldn't recapture the magic of the first one. However,... Read More »

Why David Mackenzie is the perfect choice to direct Bond 25

7 August 2017 3:27 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Tom Jolliffe wants to see David Mackenzie directing Bond 25

The latest James Bond instalment has had a degree of uncertainty around it since Spectre hit cinemas two years ago. The target seems to be 2019, and only until recently it seems that momentum is building. In part it seems that Daniel Craig will be tied down to another. Spectre underwhelmed and Craig put in a somewhat tired performance. Speculation has been rife over his impending replacement. In any case, he’s looking like he’ll don the suit again and they can get down to the nitty gritty of picking a director.

If we believe what we’ve read recently, there’s a three man short-list (personally I think, not before long, it’d be interesting to have a female director and I’m looking at Kathryn Bigelow). The shortlist consists of Denis Villeneuve, Yann Demange and David Mackenzie. All excellent choices. »

James Bond: Three Rumored Director Frontrunners — We Break Them Down!

26 July 2017 1:12 PM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Slowly but surely, the 25th James Bond film is starting to take shape. A couple weeks ago, Craig was rumored to be on his way back to the franchise. Soon after that, MGM and Eon announced an official release date for the new flick, and just yesterday, the New York Times made a report that all but confirmed that Daniel Craig would be returning to the role of James Bond.

So what’s next for the film? The next big slot to fill is the director’s chair. Who would be the one to take this upcoming film to fruition? Most recently, there have been rumblings around Christopher Nolan as a potential helmer, but he’s all but said that he wouldn’t do a film that wouldn’t need him, and by all accounts, their re-hiring of Daniel Craig »

From Almodóvar’s parade to the Security of Hollywood: Antonio Banderas’ cinematic journey

4 July 2017 5:15 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Author: Jon Lyus

Antonio Banderas is one of the more recognisable faces (and certainly one of the most recognisable voices) in Hollywood. His presence in front of the camera is tangible, and the variety of roles he enjoys now is testament to a versatility few could have expected of the man who came to Tinsel Town barely speaking a word of English.

He has been a masked legend (twice, one furry – the other not so), played with another kind of mask (horrifcally so – see the final note), appeared opposite the likes of Sir Anthony Hopkins, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie and Spongebob Squarepants. He’s done it all, and now a new film of his arrives on DVD this week.

Security sees the actor as an ex-Special Forces vet taking a job as a security guard. On his first night he rescues a young girl fleeing from a hijacked convey, »
