In the short history of "Best Movie Ever?", I've covered enough cinematic treasure to render Leonard Maltin catatonic and super-gay for yeeeears. From Nine to Five and Working Girl to Clueless and Mean Girls, we've reexamined a lot of staggering celluloid and, more importantly, women in blazers. Today, I offer up a movie that I can hardly judge as a mere admirer. It's my favorite movie, it's probably your favorite movie, and when we add up its five most unbelievable elements, we'll be so high on glamorous (and Inconceivably Silly) goodness that we'll strike each other with candlesticks, lead pipes, and Colleen Camp's triumphant bazooms. Can you dig it? It's the zany whodunit Clue, darlings, and it's what makes Western civilization good.
Now, full disclosure: I've already written one magnum opus about Clue, and it's pretty comprehensive. But I wrote that for (gasp!) a largely straight audience, and now »

Disc Dish recently spoke with actress Theresa Russell on the eve of the release of Track 29, (DVD $14.98, Image Entertainment, available on Feb. 21, 2012), the 1988 comedy-drama in which she stars alongside Gary Oldman (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), Christopher Lloyd (Piranha) and Sandra Bernhard (Dinner Rush).
Written by Dennis Potter and directed by Ms. Russell’s then-husband Nicolas Roeg (The Man Who Fell To Earth), Track 29 is an eccentric fantasy-reality juggler if ever there was one. In it, she portrays Linda, a bored housewife who becomes captivated by the handsome young hitchhiker Martin (Oldman), who suddenly “drops” into her life. After Martin claims that he’s the child that she gave up for adoption after a teen pregnancy, Linda must deal with a series of increasingly bizarre events, which may or may not be transpiring solely in her own lonely head.

Updated: And as quickly as that Variety say Forster is no longer attached to the project. He is off the film as quickly as that;
Helmer Marc Forster is no longer attached to World War II drama “The War Magician.”
The project, set up at Lonetree Entertainment, is based on David Fisher’s best-selling book and tells the story of real-life British magician Jasper Maskelyne, who adapted the core principles of stage magic to World War II. Forster had been eying the project but is no longer involved, his reps confirmed Thursday.
Previously eyed as a starring vehicle for Tom Cruise and later a potential project for director Peter Weir, Variety reports that Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace, Machine Gun Preacher) is the latest who has plans to helm The War Magician, a fascinating World War II saga of illusion.
The film is based on the best-selling non-fiction book by »
