‘WWE – The Us Championship: A Legacy of Greatness’ Review

16 May 2016 10:32 AM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

I’ve often said that I find the history WWE Blu-Ray releases the best, so when one was released celebrating the Us Championship I was obviously looking forward to it. Although we often see people like John Cena dominating the belt these days it has one of the more interesting histories of any of the belts. WWE – The Us Championship: A Legacy of Greatness reveals just how varied this history is.

The fact that WWE now has a huge library of footage from all kinds of wrestling federations from the past allows them to pull out some real gems. These include matches that aren’t even complete, and don’t feature commentary. This is the case of Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat with Andre the Giant as guest referee. Filmed in 1978 in Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling it is a nice addition for the history loving wrestling fan, especially those who love Andre. »

Shane’S Still Here

Shane was always meant to be the General Manager again this week, only the reason had to change. Originally the WWE were going to say it’s because last week’s ratings were so good. But they weren’t, so they went for ‘overwhelming social media support’ instead. Which means it only took »

Flickering Myth’s WrestleMania 33 predictions

The Flickering Myth writers predict next year’s WrestleMania 33 main card…

We’re one week removed from the biggest Wrestlemania in history and while it was a bit hit and miss, records were broken and history was made. Whether you liked it or not, it can’t be denied the huge success that it was for WWE. You can check out our reactions here.

Back in January the Flickering Myth writing team put together some predictions – some of which are pretty wild to say the least – for the year ahead in WWE.  So with Wrestlemania 32 now out of the way, we decided to look just a little farther ahead than 2016 and predict what next year’s grandaddy of them all might look like.

WWE Raw 04.04.16 Recap & Review – The Wyatt’s Turn Face, Nxt Talents Debut & Cesaro Returns

5 April 2016 1:56 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

As Wrestlemania weekend came to a close, Monday Night Raw came packed with fresh faces, returning superstars, unexpected face turns and a main event for the ages.  It also had its fair share of disappointment that’s bound to cause a great deal of controversy.  All in all, a show worthy of discussion…

Vince Gives Shane Control Of The Show… For One Night Only

Wrestlemania 32 saw Shane O’Mac unsuccessfully take on Undertaker in a Hell In A Cell match.  If he won, he’d have inherited Monday Night Raw from The Authority; but, like most potentially good storylines in the current climate, it wasn’t to be.  That being said, we got a taste of what it would be like on this episode of Raw as Vince relinquished control for the night so he could prove a point; that point being that Shane’s authority would result in a train wreck of a show. »

Did WrestleMania 32 Prove WWE Is Out Of Touch With The Fans?

4 April 2016 12:48 PM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

WWE.com

I cannot even begin to comprehend what Vince McMahon was thinking when he laid out WrestleMania 32. If what occurred in Dallas is not proof positive that he is out of touch with what his core fan base wants, then nothing is. He is the captain of the sinking Titanic, refusing to believe that his ship even hit an iceberg, let alone is being being sank by it.

I thought the wrestling throughout the night was solid at worst and pretty good at best, without anything blowing me away. Not the most glowing praise, but given the hotchpotch mess I was expecting going in, it actually delivered slightly beyond my expectations.

The issue – as always – was not with the in-ring action, but with the way it was booked. WWE got it wrong not just in all of the big matches, but in every single contest.

WWE And Tna: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (April 3)

3 April 2016 3:32 PM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

WWE.com

Here we go, it’s WrestleMania time! It’s that special show we’ve been waiting all year for, and the show that WWE seems to have started booking about two weeks ago. We’ve got 11 matches at the event, with not one of them likely to top half the matches we saw at Nxt: Takeover. Such is life, though. Still, it’s Mania, so we’ll be talking about what happened for years.

Well, the most ridiculous line of the week belongs to the 47-year-old Michael Cole calling the 46-year-old Shane McMahon “A young man.” This means everyone on the roster not named the Undertaker are also strapping, young men.

Since this is WWE’s weekend, and with nothing overly offensive happening in Tna this week, we’ll exclusively focus on the “E” for this edition. Also, to be positive for just one, brief moment, if you haven’t yet, »

14 Burning Questions For WWE WrestleMania 32

3 April 2016 9:47 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

WWE.com

WWE will tell you that the buildup has been “epic” and that we are on the cusp of one the biggest events in all of wrestling history. The company will sell you on the belief that Sunday’s WrestleMania Xxxii will be a seismic-shifting event that will alter the landscape of the WWE forever.

But let’s call Mania 32 what it is: an injury-plagued, star-deficient event with a card that looks nothing like it was conceived as recently as last fall. John Cena, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Sting and Cesaro all have been taken out of action, leaving WWE to scramble to put together a compelling card.

The result is a 46-year-old Shane McMahon being brought back to fight the Undertaker, a heatless United States Championship match and six (out of 11) multi-competitor matchups (the old adage being that if you don’t have something good on paper, »

WWE WrestleMania 32 Preview – Roman Reigns vs. Triple H, Shane McMahon vs. The Undertaker in Hell in a Cell, Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar and more

2 April 2016 2:00 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

It’s the biggest WrestleMania of all-time with one of the most depleted rosters in recent memory. Injuries to top talent has left WWE in a quandary, but they’ve pushed forward with their plans questionable booking and all – it’s WrestleMania 32…

Well, it’s that special time of year. A time when wrestling fans – both current and lapsed – come together and celebrate this bizarre past time we call Professional Wrestling Sports Entertainment. Some might say that the Nxt Takeover: Dallas card is more impressive (and they’re right), but there’s something special about WrestleMania that you just can’t deny. I saw a small photo of the stage being built yesterday and my excitement grew – just a small photo! The card is problematic, and the injuries to top talent like John Cena, Seth Rollins, Neville and Cesaro along with the retirements of Daniel Bryan and Sting mean that the roster is very, »

Which Match Is Scheduled To Main Event WrestleMania 32?

1 April 2016 2:07 PM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

WWE.com

Every year, there’s speculation as to which of the huge matches announced for WrestleMania will close out the show, and this year is no different. While The Undertaker-Shane McMahon Hell in a Cell match has drawn the most interest for the event and potentially has the highest stakes, Triple H versus Roman Reigns is for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and represents the culmination of more than a year of Reigns’s monster push.

According to F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez, the current plan is to have Shane McMahon and The Undertaker headline the show. Of course, decisions such as those are subject to constant change, and nothing is set it stone until it actually happens.

If this bout were to go on last, it would mark The Undertaker’s fourth WrestleMania main event (after WrestleManias 13, 24, and 26) and Shane’s first. It would also be only »

12 WrestleMania 32 Worries For Smart Marks

Smart marks. Internet marks. Intelligent dupes. Neck-bearded keyboard warriors. Whatever your chosen term for the studious super fans that drown twitter in their tears every Monday night, they are primed for the showcase of the immortals. Ready with their battle cries of “I told you so” and “why do you hate your fans?!”. They’re like this most years, of course, but this time is special.

WrestleMania 32 represents a crossroads for the company. Down one road, an extreme change in the company’s creative direction and all the exciting turmoil that comes with it. Down the other lies a cruel bait-and-switch and another decade of corporate prescriptivism. Guess which one The Smarks are expecting.

As well as death or freedom for long time fans, this ‘Mania is stacked with concerns that only come around this time of year. If you spent your tax rebate last April printing off »

10 WrestleMania 32 Questions You Most Want Answered

WWE.com

Well, it’s almost upon us. WrestleMania 32 is nearly here, and while it’s easy (and understandable) to get caught up in all the hype surrounding such a gargantuan event, it’s also important to maintain a critical eye.

It turns out that a few of your eyes are more critical than others, as questions this week include ‘How can WrestleMania not end on a sour note’ and ‘Why is Eva Marie back on the main roster’. This really demonstrates the slapdash feel of this year’s WrestleMania build, with several feuds seemingly thrown together at the last second, and one in particular rejected by the fans. You know which one I mean…

Hopefully, despite all of our worries, queries and concerns, WWE can once again knock it out of the park when it really matters. They’ve done it for the past two years in a row, »
