Netflix’s ‘Castlevania’ Teaser Trailer is Edgy Anime

9 hours ago | TheHDRoom | See recent TheHDRoom news »

Netflix's willingness to dip into the 1980's and tug on our nostalgic strings continues with this summer's short event series, Castlevania.

Based on the 1986 Konami video game of the same name for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Castlevania follows the last surviving member of a disgraced clan tasked with taking down the most formidable vampire of them all, Dracula.

Warren Ellis, a well-known comic book artist and best-selling author, penned the Castlevania script. Fred Tatasciore, Alejandra Reynoso and James Callis provide the voice talent.

As you'll see in the Castlevania teaser trailer below, Netflix is delivering an edge anime with full-on blood and horror.

Castlevania's four 30-minute episodes will be available to stream on Netflix beginning July 7th. »

12 Monkeys Season 3 Review

15 May 2017 10:54 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

The full season was provided prior to broadcast.

12 Monkeys has the unfortunate reputation of being renowned as one of the best shows that no one watches. This is all too understandable, as its origami narrative is simply impenetrable to casual viewers tuning in midway through. Though it began with a straightforwardly Terminator-esque mission – go back in time to kill the man responsible for the apocalypse – it’s evolved into a dense temporal thicket including evolved human beings with direct connections to time itself, gigantic time-travelling cities, a plethora of knotty paradoxes, and time-muddled familial relations. No wonder the new series’ central motif is an ouroboros – a snake consuming its own tail.

Season 2 ended with one of our heroes, Cassie, being informed that her just-conceived baby will grow up to be series big bad The Witness, the sinister masked figure responsible for the deaths of 7 billion people whose lofty ambition is the destruction of time itself. »

‘12 Monkeys’ Renewed for Final Season at Syfy

16 March 2017 10:43 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Syfy has given one more renewal to sci-fi drama “12 Monkeys.”

The third season of “12 Monkeys” won’t premiere until May, but Syfy has already ordered a fourth installment of 10 episodes. The catch: Season 4 will be the show’s last.

Syfy is adopting a different linear strategy for Season 3, as well. The entire season will air over three nights, beginning on May 19. Four episodes will air on the 19th, then three on each of the next two nights. The strategy is an answer to the anemic live ratings the show drew over its first two seasons, which grew upwards of 70% in DVR viewing.

“’12 Monkeys’ has a dedicated and enthusiastic fan-base thanks to the epic storytelling by Terry Matalas, and the stellar cast and crew,” said Jeff Wachtel, president and chief content officer, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “We are thrilled to be able to offer fans an opportunity to binge the third season as a reward for their lasting support »

It was sadly announced yesterday that Battlestar Galactica actor Richard Hatch passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 71 years old.

Hatch began his career on the soap opera All My Children and later joined on The Streets of San Francisco after Michael Douglas left the show. His biggest role, however, came in 1978 as ace pilot Apollo in Battlestar Galactica. The series was about the exodus of humanity after the Cylons, a race of robots, attacked humanity to near extinction, leading them to find the mythical planet Earth for refuge. It only ran for one season, but gained a large cult following after an edited cut of the pilot hit theaters and even spawned the short-lived sequel series Galactica 1980.

Unlike most actors attached to an iconic role, Hatch never got tired of being Apollo or the Galactica fandom. Throughout his career he wrote books based in the »
