If you've been dying to know what Meg Rayburn revealed to her mother at the end of Bloodline Season 2, you're in luck!

Just one day before the Emmy nominations, Netflix has ordered a third season of their original series Bloodline, from creators Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler.

Bloodline is a dramatic thriller that centers on a family of adult siblings whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother returns home.

The ten episode third season starring Kyle Chandler, Sissy Spacek, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini, and Norbert Leo Butz will return to Netflix in 2017.

That's down from the 13-episode order of Season 1, but normal in the world of streaming television.

Seasons one and two are currently streaming on Netflix.

'Bloodline': Netflix series picked up for Season 3

13 July 2016 10:21 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

There’s good news for fans of the Rayburns and the Netflix series Bloodline. It’s been picked up for a third season. The streaming service today announced that the Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated show, about a Florida family with dark secrets (isn’t this true of every family in Florida?), received a 10-episode order. While the first season of the show was 13 episodes, last year was decreased to only 10 episodes. So perhaps that’s going to be the norm going forward for Bloodline. In a statement, Cindy Holland, VP of Original Content for Netflix, said that producers “have created a riveting family saga…We can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds.” Bloodline stars Emmy winner Kyle Chandler, Oscar winner Sissy Spacek, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini and Norbert Leo Butz. The series will return in 2017. »

Bloodline renewed for season 3 by Netflix

Chris Longo Jul 15, 2016

Netflix is making a commitment to Bloodline season 3, even if they need to relocate production on the series...

Despite uncertainties surrounding its shooting location and an underwhelming sophomore season, Netflix has confirmed Bloodline season 3.

The Florida-set family thriller, from creators Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler, is set to return in 2017 for 10 episodes. Stars Kyle Chandler, Sissy Spacek, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini, and Norbert Leo Butz will return to the cast.

A third season nearly didn’t happen as the Florida-shot series would be far more costly to produce after the state’s tax incentives program expired earlier this year and the state legislature voted against replenishing the funds. According to THR:

Bloodline, along with Miami-set HBO football comedy Ballers, had scooped up the last of the monies from the $300 million the state had allocated in 2010, allowing both shows to get through their most second seasons with financial breaks. »

Bloodline Renewed For Third Season At Netflix

13 July 2016 9:58 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Looks like the Rayburns have secured their immediate future on Netflix, after the streaming giant announced plans to renew Bloodline for a third season.

That’s according to The Hollywood Reporter, confirming that the new season will span 10 episodes in total, as opposed the freshman run of 13 installments, and will premiere exclusively via Netflix in 2017.

Kyle Chandler, Linda Cardellini and Norbert Leo Butz were among the cast for Bloodline season 2, which proved to be notably underwhelming in comparison to its forebear. As such, we’re pleased to report that Sony’s familial thriller will return for another outing, though it’s unclear at this stage if the series will maintain tradition and lens in Florida Keys.

It’s still early days, of course, and in light of the renewal Cindy Holland, VP of Original Content at Netflix, released the following statement:

2016 Emmy Contenders: Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama

7 June 2016 2:00 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Last year, Peter Dinklage took home his second Emmy Award for his role as Tyrion Lannister on “Game of Thrones.” Despite the impressive ensemble of the show, Dinklage could stand out again this year; he already has the best line of the season: “That’s what I do. I drink and I know things.” He could face competition from co-stars Kit Harington and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, neither of whom has been nominated yet.

Jonathan Banks is a likely repeat nominee for “Better Call Saul,” but his co-star Michael McKean was a scene stealer as well, and also the biggest villain of the season as he looked to usurp his own brother. McKean is a beloved vet who has never received an Emmy nomination and is long overdue.

We could see repeat nominations for Jon Voight (“Ray Donovan”) and Michael Kelly (“House of Cards”), as well as two actors whose shows left the air this year, »

Bloodline Season 2 Review

26 May 2016 11:43 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Eight episodes were provided prior to broadcast

It was clear from the very first episode of season 1, through a series of flash-forwards that revealed his tragic fate at the bottom of the ocean (which we later learn was the result of fratricide at the hands of his brother John, played by Kyle Chandler), that the arc of Danny Rayburn was to be limited to just the one season. He was the driving force of Bloodline, the character whose appearance at the Rayburns’ idyllic Florida Keys home set in motion a chain of events that would gradually expose the façade of that family’s harmonious public image. Portrayed by the brilliant Ben Mendelsohn, he was the one genuinely rounded character of the ensemble, and the one whose charisma and pathos was the only element of an otherwise fairly prosaic show that lived up to its prestige TV aspirations.
