Reaper creators Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas have joined new ABC drama series Resurrection as showrunners. Written by Aaron Zelman and directed by Charles McDougall, Resurrection, one of the best-received ABC drama pilots this year, revolves around the people of Arcadia, Mo, whose lives are forever changed when their deceased loved ones suddenly start to return. Butters and Fazekas will executive produce alongside Zelman, JoAnn Alfano, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Jon Liebman for Brillstein Entertainment, Plan B and ABC Studios. For ICM Partners-repped Fazekas and Butters, the gig stems from the overall deal they signed at ABC Studios in February. Seth Gabel! I would have started this article with a long Woo Hoo if it wasn’t somewhat unprofessional. But please allow me to take a step back. Gothica (which by the way has absolutely nothing to do with the Halle Berry movie of the same name) is a pilot in development at ABC, described as a modern-day gothic horror soap surrounding the lives of Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein, Dorian Gray and more. Don’t worry, we »

More casting news has come our way for ABC's "Gothica" as "Fringe" alum Seth Gabel and one of our absolute favorite actresses, Melissa George, have signed on to the ever expanding cast. Read on for details.
Deadline reports that Gabel will play Roderick Usher, the district attorney and heir to the once-powerful Usher family who is carrying secrets, and George (pictured) will play Fiona Hunter, the series’ most formidable force, and everyone – from Grace Van Helsing (Janet Montgomery) to Dorian Gray (Chris Egan) to Victor Frankenstein (Tom Ellis) – will find their mettle and savvy tested by this deliciously cunning woman. Emma Booth joined the cast yesterday to play Frankenstein's bride, Madeline Usher.
The ABC drama pilot "Gothica," is co-produced by the ABC Studio-based Mark Gordon Co. with "Reaper" creators Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas serving as executive producers/showrunners, working alongside creator/executive producer Matt Lopez (The Sorcerer's Apprentice), who wrote the pilot. »

Janet Montgomery ("Made in Jersey," "Entourage," Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead, The Hills Run Red) will play Grace Van Helsing, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist from New York who takes over her family’s hometown newspaper. Dorian Gray (Chris Egan) provides her with the $20 million she needs to retain control of the paper, and she was romantically involved with Victor Frankenstein (Tom Ellis) years ago.
