Rap artist and influential hip-hop figure who recorded under the name Pimp C.
Member of the Texas hip-hop duo UGK, which scored a No. 1 album in 2007 with "Underground Kingz." With the Oscar-winning rap group Three 6 Mafia, UGK recorded the song "Sippin on Sizzurp," an ode to getting high from cough syrup.
His collaboration with Jay Z on the hit "Big Pimpin'" is considered a hip-hop classic.
Was a heavy consumer of codeine cough syrup, which contributed to his death.
