Green fit for 'Kings'; trio takes 'Bow'

Seth Green has been tapped to star in NBC's comedy pilot Four Kings with Kiele Sanchez also cast in the project. Meanwhile, Joey Lawrence, Kim Fields and Charles Duckworth have joined Bow Wow in the WB Network's comedy pilot Bow, Katherine Waterston has landed one of the leads in CBS' untitled Marsh McCall comedy pilot, and Kel Mitchell has joined AJ Calloway in UPN's comedy The Show With AJ Calloway. Four Kings, from Warner Bros. TV, revolves around four friends in New York who are best friends from childhood. Green will play one of them, an annoyed malcontent. Green's casting in the project, written and executive produced by Will & Grace creators/exec producers David Kohan and Max Mutchnick and to be directed by Will & Grace director/exec producer James Burrows, comes on the heels of Green working with the trio on an upcoming episode of the long-running NBC comedy, in which he will guest star. »

Wolf in sitcom clothing for NBC

In Dick Wolf's first foray into comedy, NBC has greenlighted a pilot from the drama super producer that veteran sitcom director James Burrows has come aboard to direct. In another first, Fox executive-turned-producer Sandy Grushow has received his first pilot order for Don't Ask, a comedy set up at Fox. Additionally, Fox has given the thumbs up to an untitled Bill Oakley/Josh Weinstein comedy pilot, exec produced by Saturday Night Live honcho Lorne Michaels. The untitled Dave Flebotte comedy, from Wolf Films and NBC Universal TV Studio, centers on an old-school Italian family that owns a diner in the North End of Boston, where they cater to a combustible mix of longtime locals and the yuppies the neighborhood has started to attract. »

TV Caucus taps 14 for '05 Honors

Six TV producers, four writers and four directors have been nominated for the 2005 Honors Awards presented by the Caucus for Television Producers, Writers & Directors, which made the announcement Tuesday. The producer nominees are Jerry Bruckheimer, Mark Burnett, Marcy Carsey & Tom Werner, David Milch and Gary Smith. Susan Harris, Barry Kemp, Leonard Stern and Linda Bloodworth-Thomason are the writer nominees, while directors James Burrows, Thomas Carter, Mimi Leder and Gene Reynolds also were nominated. The awards will be presented Jan. 13 at the caucus' 22nd annual Dinner & Awards Ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The black-tie event -- co-chaired by Chuck Fries and Lee Miller, with Tom Bergeron (America's Funniest Home Videos) serving as emcee -- is an annual gathering of artistic and creative professionals and executives working in the TV industry who "pay tribute to a producer, writer, director or executive for their innovative, creative and distinctive contribution to the profession." The caucus, chaired by Vin Di Bona, is a multiguild professional organization "that mentors TV producers, writers and directors in their negotiations with the cable and broadcast networks for their creative rights." »
