One Three Media, reality heavyweight Mark Burnett’s joint venture with Hearst, is expanding into scripted television. It has hired HBO veteran Anne Thomopoulos to start a new scripted division for drama series and miniseries and run it. Thomopoulos has executive produced such series/miniseries as Rome, Camelot and Generation Kill as well as Tom Fontana’s European-financed and produced Borgia, on whose second season season she is working at the moment. “Our scripted division will be producing domestically and internationally, using both traditional models and new business models,” Thomopoulos said. Burnett’s first scripted project through his new company, a 10-hour miniseries for History based on the Bible that he’s executive producing alongside his wife Touched By An Angel star Roma Downey, is currently in production for a spring 2013 premiere. It is co-financed by Hearst Entertainment & Syndication, and Fox has worldwide home video distribution for it. One Three »

Chicago – USA Network, most known for it’s WWE programming and a bunch of really good character focused comedy-drama’s you’ve wanted to get around to watching (but haven’t), announced several new reality TV programs it plans to bring to the network in 2012.
Unlike the recent reality boom focusing on blue-collar businesses (“Pawn Stars,” “Auction Kings,” etc.) the reality shows coming to USA appear to be focused on characters and their relationships. A good choice for a network with the motto ‘Character’s Welcome”.
With a buzzword straight from 2007, the ‘Bromantic’ reality series “Bride or Best Man” focuses on two male friends who have been put in charge of planning a big wedding. Shed Media is the producing company, veterans of the U.K Edition of “The Voice,” and the deliciously titled “My Transexual Summer.”

Jonny Lee Miller (Dark Shadows, Hackers) stars as detective Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson in a modern-day drama about a crime-solving duo that cracks the NYPD’s most impossible cases. The seemingly endless wait for the Syfy summer schedule is finally over! There is good news and bad, and one thing that is both good and bad. Let’s start with that: the Eureka Season Finale. We love Eureka, so every episode is good news; the fact that it’s a series finale, not so much. Mark your calendars – and have plenty of Kleenex in stock – for July 16 at 9/8c. Right after Comic-Con, which is early this year. We’ll see if that means a panel or not.
The good news: Warehouse 13 and Alphas return on July 23. The hmmm news is that Lost Girl will move to Fridays at 10 on July 20. Hey That’S Haven’S Spot. So Where The Heck Is Haven? Admittedly we had a head’s up that Haven would be pushed to fall when we learned that the DVDs for Season 2 weren’t being released until September but Argh. »

It's the end of 10 seasons of investigations, pun-filled taglines and best supporting sunglasses on "CSI: Miami" -- CBS has canceled the long-running series.
Star Eva Larue visited "Live with Kelly" last month to lament the fact that the show didn't get a proper send-off, if that was to be their series finale, after their episode order was cut to 19 to make room for Robert De Niro's rookie cop drama "NYC 22."
"It's not fair, we didn't get to tie it up right," Larue said. "After 10 seasons, we ended in a bar. That doesn't seem right."
But there you have it -- "CSI: Miami," ending in a bar. CBS sent out this quote with the official announcement:
“'CSI: Miami' leaves an amazing television legacy -– a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade. »

Jonny Lee Miller will get his chance to make a mark in the crowded Sherlock Holmes market. On Sunday (May 13), CBS announced plans to pick up the drama "Elementary" -- which transplants Holmes to Brooklyn and morphs his trusty sidekick Watson into Lucy Liu. The network also put in orders for three other dramas, two comedies and a new reality show from Mark Burnett.
Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis star in "Vegas" -- a 1960's set drama about a rodeo cowboy who becomes sheriff of the desert city. "Made in New Jersey" tracks a working class woman's (Janet Montgomery) rise at a posh Manhattan law firm, while "Golden Boy" follows another career -- a copy who goes from officer to detective to police commissioner in short order.
