Now that Nicolas Winding Refn has made a name for himself in the U.S. with Drive, it's no surprise that there are a few folks out there looking to bring some of his previous films to a new audience. He got his start back in 1996 with a gritty crime thriller called Pusher, which eventually spawned two sequels. The films received critical acclaim, but their accessibility was limited by the fact that they were Danish-language films. The obvious solution: an English-language remake. This is actually the second time Pusher has been remade (a Hindi version was released in 2010), but Refn is listed as executive producer this time around which I suppose lends it a little more credibility. Also adding some credibility is the fact that one of the main actors from the original three films is reprising his role here: Zlatko Buric plays Serbian drug lord Milo. It looks decent »

Having the creator of the original film aboard as a producer is not always a solid gold guarantee of quality, but it certainly gives you cause for feeling more hopeful. Such is the case for Luis Prieto’s remake of Nicolas Winding Refn’s sizzling Danish debut thriller Pusher, and now the trailer for the new film is online. Take a look below.Refn has helped shepherd this version of Pusher, which has been uprooted from Copenhagen to London, with Richard Coyle taking on the role of harried drug slinger Frank. The story remains fairly identical to the original – Frank thinks he’s found the score of a lifetime, but is suddenly forced to ditch his haul when the police show up. Trouble is, that leaves him open to the not-so-tender mercies of crime boss (Zlatko Buric, who played the same part in Refn’s trilogy). The film also features Bronson Webb, »

So here it is, the first trailer for the Nicolas Winding Refn produced remake of his debut film "Pusher" and...well, it's big, bright, sleek and kind of empty. Starring Richard Coyle and model-turned-actress Agyness Deyn, the film is a familiar tale of a guy who has a deal go bad, and winds up owing some money to drug dealers who blah blah blah. The problem here is that Brit cinema is overstuffed with movies that look exactly like this with hard lads, beautiful girls and vaguely accented villains all in a downward spiral with illegal substances at the center (and as our commenters point out, that's Zlatko Buric reprising his role from the original pic). While Refn does lend his name to the film, none of his flourishes or even his thumbprint is really felt here. Director Luis Prieto seems to be doing a workmanlike job (though the cinematography »

A few days ago, we reported that Luis Prieto's English-language remake of Nicolas Winding Refn's Pusher had been picked up by The Weinstein Company's VOD label, Radius-twc. The film centers on Frank, a drug dealer (Richard Coyle) who gets busted by the cops and has to throw away his product. When he returns to the mob boss (Zlatko Buric reprising his role from Refn's trilogy) without the unsold drugs or the money to pay for them, Frank frantically tries to find a way to repay the mobster. A trailer has now gone online and I like the look of it. Perhaps Refn's executive-producer blessing make the remake more palatable, but I like what I'm seeing from Coyle, and it looks like Prieto has certainly delivered on the intensity of the drama. Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film also stars Agyness Deyn, Bronson Webb, and Paul Kaye. »

One project I’m not sure is necessary is the British remake of Pusher. Directed by Luis Prieto, helmer of the 1996 crime drama source Nicolas Winding Refn serves as executive producer here. Having just watched the original trilogy it holds up incredibly well, so I can’t imagine much new is in store when things are moved to England. We have the first trailer today and that statement is cemented. Refn’s naturalistic style seems to be missing, opting for more flashy visuals. Among the cast of Agyness Deyn, Richard Coyle, Bronson Webb and Paul Kaye is Zlatko Buric, seemingly reprising his Milo role from the original trilogy. Why? Don’t ask. Check out the trailer below.
Synopsis:
As edgy and explosive as Nicolas Winding Refn’s 1996 cult classic, this English language remake tells the story of a week in the life of Frank, a big time drug pusher in London. »

Nicolas Winding Refn became a real commodity real fast, though his immense talent as a filmmaker more than explains a) why this happened and b) why we care. He does, however, have his name on one project that we haven’t paid much attention to: the British remake of his debut, 1996′s gritty crime film Pusher. Directed by Luis Prieto and executive produced by the original creator himself, Pusher follows the same story as its original, wherein a drug dealer has to pay back a kingpin after screwing up a job. This time, in England.
Production wrapped sometime in the last month, and Deadline reports that The Weinstein Company has — through their new outlet, Radius — picked up American rights to the picture. And, in a somewhat poetic turn, the acquisition was partially made by Tom Quinn and Jason Janego, who ran Magnolia when the studio put out Winding Refn‘s »

Yesterday we had the first image of Supermodel Agyness Deyn as Flo in new British movie, Pusher and today, there is a rather less sexy one of Richard Coyle who plays drug-dealer Frank in the movie. Coyle has previously been in the likes of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and more recently worked with Madonna on her new movie, W.E. He’s probably most well known for TV series Whistleblowers from 2007 where he played Ben Graham and also his work on BBC comedy Coupling from back in 2000-2002.
This so far is all we know of Pusher:
In London, a drug pusher’s (Coyle) life spins out of control over the course of one week.
Pusher also stars Bronson Webb, Mem Ferda, Zlatko Buric, Paul Kaye and Daisy Lewis and is directed by Luis Prieto and I believe will be released later this year.

Agyness Deyn may not be a name that you know so well for shooting movies but you may well know her from her catwalk modelling although you may recognise her from Clash of the Titans where she played Aphrodite. Her new movie is called Pusher and is currently in post production and will be released later on in the year. The official Twitter account for the movie has now released the first image of the beautiful actress and I have to say, it’s is rather raunchy!
Pusher stars Richard Coyle, Bronson Webb, Agyness Deyn, Mem Ferda, Zlatko Buric, Paul Kaye and Daisy Lewis and is directed by Luis Prieto.
Since it is rather sexy and therefore may not be safe for work Nsfw then I’ve put it on the next page, just click next to view. »
