You may have seen some purchased/leaked/stolen images of costume tests for stars of the current Star Wars film floating around the Internet, but we've got some vintage shots of a fan-favorite character suiting up behind the scenes of his iconic role. First revealed on the big screen in the 1980 film Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, bounty hunter Boba Fett found himself going from fringe character to cult icon within a short span of time. The man behind the mask in the original films was English actor Jeremy Bulloch, who also nabbed a role in the prequel film Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith as Captain Colton, a role in which you can actually see his face. Star Wars: 2018's film will be Boba Fett origin story

The second standalone Star Wars movie is set to tell the story of Boba Fett, it's being reported.

We already know that the first standalone Star Wars Anthology movie, which goes by the name of Rogue One, will be arriving in cinemas at the end of 2016. Godzilla's Gareth Edwards is directing, and Felicity Jones has signed up to star.

At the end of last week, we learned too of a change of personnel with regards the second Star Wars Anthology film, that's due in cinemas in 2018. Chronicle and Fantastic Four's Josh Trank had been due to direct that one, but he departed the projected, and the search is on for a new director.

In the meantime, though, it seems we've discovered just what the 2018 standalone Star Wars movie will be about. And, as had been rumoured, it looks like we're going to get a Boba Fett origin movie. »

The second Star Wars anthology film may serve up a Boba Fett origin story, according to reports.

A spinoff focused on the Mandalorian warrior has been rumoured for sometime, but now The Wrap reports that it could follow Star Wars: Rogue One.

Josh Trank recently quit as director of the highly-anticipated project, which is slated to hit cinemas in 2018.

Last summer, the filmmaker was revealed as one of two directors helming movies that exist in the Star Wars universe while not directly connected to Jj Abrams's The Force Awakens.

Godzilla director Gareth Edwards is on board for Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One. Rogue One is set to star Felicity Jones and Ben Mendelsohn in a story based around a heist of the Death Star.

Boba Fett is a notorious bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe, having worked with the Empire, Darth Vader and Jabba the Hutt.

Boba Fett Origin Story Will Be Second 'Star Wars' Anthology Movie

After being shrouded in secrecy for several months, Disney and LucasFilm recently revealed that the first Star Wars spinoff, Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One, will focus on a group of rebels on a mission to steal plans for the first Death Star. While we still don't have any confirmed details about the second Star Wars Spin-Off, a new report claims that the plot will center on the origin story of famed bounty hunter Boba Fett. While the character has not been cast yet, there were rumors earlier this year that Disney and LucasFilm are eyeing Michael Fassbender to play Boba Fett, but that has never been confirmed.

Star Wars doc 'Elstree 1976' heads to The Works

Efm: UK sales outfit The Works International has boarded world rights to documentary Elstree 1976, about the effect Star Wars had on the lives of those involved in even the smallest roles in the film.

Directed by Jon Spira, whose previous documentary Anyone Can Play Guitar was named one of the top 10 music films of 2011 by the NME, and produced by Hank Starrs (Dust), the film features Star Wars actors and extras from Dave Prowse (Darth Vader) and Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett) to Derek Lyons (Massassi Temple Guard) and Pam Rose (Leesub Sirlin).

The film will explore ten actors’ lives and explore the eccentric community they have formed.

The Works will be screening a promo of the film, currently in post-production, during the Efm in Berlin.

The Kickstarter-funded project is due to be released ahead of J.J Abrams’  Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.

Berlin: The Works Acquires ‘Elstree 1976′ — Docu about ‘Star Wars’ Actors, Extras

London — The Works Intl. has acquired exclusive worldwide sales rights for “Elstree 1976,” a documentary about the effect “Star Wars” had on the lives of some of actors and extras involved in making the film. Sales will commence in Berlin where The Works is screening a promo.

The film is in post-production, following a successful Kickstarter campaign, and will be ready for delivery at the end of the year, in advance of the release of J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens.”

The pic is directed by Jon Spira, whose previous documentary “Anyone Can Play Guitar” was named one of the top 10 music films of 2011 by the NME. “Elstree 1976” was produced by Hank Starrs (“Dust,” “Anyone Can Play Guitar”).
