Zapped! is a new TV series – destined for UKTV’s Dave channel - that very much has our attention. Steve Coogan is executive producing, and James Buckley (Jay from The Inbetweeners), Paul Kaye (Dennis Pennis/Game of Thrones’ Thoros of Myr), Sharon Rooney (Rae from My Mad Fat Diary), Ken Collard and Louis Emerick are set to lead the cast. Coogan has lined up himself for a special guest appearance, too.

Just over a year ago, Universal Pictures announced that production had gotten under way on a secret project from the comedic trio known as The Lonely Island, which is comprised of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer. Very little was known about the project at the time, but it was eventually revealed to be a parody of the pop music world entitled Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, which is set for release on June 3. Back in March, we got our first look at this comedy with the red band trailer, but now we have the second trailer that is suitable for all ages.

Berlin — Gsp Studios, the U.K. production and sales company, has taken international sales rights to “Mad to Be Normal,” starring David Tennant, Elisabeth Moss, Michael Gambon and Gabriel Byrne. Sales on the R.D. Laing biopic will kick off Thursday at the Berlin Film Festival’s European Film Market.
The film tells the story of the world-renowned Scottish psychiatrist Laing (Tennant) and his unique community of patients at Kingsley Hall in 1960s East London, where Laing performed various daring experiments on people who were at the time known as “disturbed.” His methods included using LSD and a type of self-healing, known as metanoia, much to the dismay and outrage of the psychiatric community.
