Frederick R. Buckley was awarded the O. Henry Award for his 1922 short story "Gold Mounted Guns".
Frederick was the film critic of the Birmingham Evening Despatch in the 1930's.
Robert John Buckley, Frederick's father, was the music critic for the Birmingham Gazette from 1886-1926.
