Newswire: Martin Starr’s role in Spider-Man: Homecoming is suitably nerdy

Ever since he scored an invite to Spider-Man: Homecoming, we’ve been wondering what Martin Starr will get up to in the superhero world. Would he play henchman to Michael Keaton’s Vulture, or would he just end up being a startled but grateful bystander, a la Joy Bryant in Spider-Man 2? Starr does appear in the film’s trailer, where he looks every bit the factoid-dropping mentor in a gold jacket and tie. Though he hasn’t seen the finished film yet, he did elaborate on its direction, which will give us a »

Exclusive: 'Parenthood's' Mae Whitman and Dax Shepard Dish on Revival Chances and 'This Is Us' Comparisons

21 March 2017 4:45 PM, PDT | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

This Is Us has been widely considered the heir apparent to Parenthood, the heart-wrenching family drama that ended more than two years ago -- and with good reason! Both shows tug at your heartstrings, make you reach for those tissues and by the end of each episode, have you hugging your loved ones.

Parenthood stars Mae Whitman and Dax Shepard, who played Amber Holt and Crosby Braverman respectively, spoke with Et about the frequent comparisons between their beloved series and television’s newest hit.

“I’ve only seen the first episode,” Whitman admitted to Et at the CHiPs premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday of This Is Us. “But the device of the [multiple time periods] is amazing and I feel like we’re all one big family. It’s like another generation of us.”

While Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard star in a buddy cop movie, they don't use the "good cop, bad cop" interrogation technique in their home life.

The couple hit the red carpet on Monday night for the premiere of CHiPs in Los Angeles, California, and shared with Et's Denny Directo how they prefer to parent their two daughters, 3-year-old Lincoln and 2-year-old Delta.

Last Week’S Review: Season 6 Premiere Finds the Light While Escaping It All

Love Her or Hate Her

Hannah is finally getting some traction in her career, and it looks good on her. Although she’s the same self-indulgent, dramatically inclined person we’ve always known, there’s a newfound calmness about her as she settles into something resembling maturity. This week it manifested in a surprising heart-to-heart between Hannah and Bff Marnie, with whom Hannah had escaped the city so that Marnie could partake in some self-indulgences herself (namely in the form of ex-husband Desi). In a poignant moment, Hannah admitted that she’s no longer judging because she’s finally realized no one has it all figured out, and we actually believe her. Even though hours earlier she was lamenting about having to keep Marnie’s tryst with Desi a secret from Ray.
