Christopher Nolan Talks Michael Mann’s ‘Heat’ With Cast and Crew at the Academy

Al Pacino finally admitted it: Vincent Hanna, the dedicated Los Angeles police detective he plays in Michael Mann’s 1995 crime saga “Heat,” is strung out on cocaine throughout the film.

“I don’t think I’ve ever said it out loud,” Pacino revealed at a special screening of a 4K Dcp of the film at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater Wednesday night. “But I’ve always wanted to say it, just so you know where some of the behavior comes from.”

The packed audience gave a knowing chuckle, as Pacino’s performance is so big and boisterous it has take on mythic proportions in his filmography.

Amazon Renews ‘Bosch’ for Season 3

Bosch” is back. Or at least, it will be. Amazon has renewed the one-hour crime drama, based on the bestselling Michael Connelly novels, for a third season. ‘Bosch’ Renewed for Season 3 by Amazon

Amazon has renewed original series “Bosch” for a third season. The cop drama, based on the novels by Michael Connelly, premiered its second season March 11.

Amazon claimed last year that season 1 of “Bosch” was its most watched original series. The company later asserted that “The Man in the High Castle” had surpassed “Bosch” to claim that title. Amazon does not release viewership data for its originals series and movies.

Available to stream for Amazon Prime customers, “Bosch” stars Titus Welliver (“Lost”) as Lapd detective Harry Bosch. Jamie Hector, Amy Aquino, Madison Lintz and Lance Reddick also star.

Bosch” was developed for television by Eric Overmyer (“Treme,” “The Wire,” “Homicide: Life on the Streets”) with Connelly, Pieter Jan Brugge (“Heat,” “The Insider,” “The Clearing”) and Fabrik Entertainment’s Henrik Bastin (“The Killing,” “Odyssey,” “The Comedians”).
